Steemit Philippines - Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 (Week 3) || “Silver Lining"

Three years ago when I was still at the University we were preparing for our final exams with my colleagues, we usually go to school and studied together, after the first four pepper the exams were postponed due to some issue the school had with the educational board and everyone felt relax because the date was no communicated to us. But the school management advised the student to study for the remaining pepper left.

That same week we were having an award night party, which we planned to attend and it was the same day we were supposed to write the exams that were postponed. So we all became reluctant since we don't have exams that day we will prepare for our award night. But something happens the night before the party, after all, the preparation, we had for the award night, we had the student saying that our exams will still hold that same day and that the school has canceled the postponement of the exams.

Hearing that news I was confused about which one to go for because the award night is very important and the exam was important as well. So I told my friends that we should just forget about the award night and go back to the school to read for the exams but two of my friends were against it because we spent money and time preparing for the event, they later decide that we should go for the award night, once we are done then we can go to the school and read before the exams since the subject we where to write that day was very simple and we know how the lectures usually set his questions.

On our way to the party, my guy called me and warned me not to go to the award night, he said is better than you to complete your exams in peace than for you to go to the party and end up carrying over a course that will lead to additional one year at the University. I was confused, and angry at the same time but I later told my friends that I can't join them for the award night party. Joy agreed to go back home with me while mary and Victoria went to the party.

We came back home, changed our dresses, and went to class to study, while in the class I was not concentrating because my attention was on the party and all I wanted that day was to go and get the awards because it's also important. After an hour my guy came to the class and decided to make the study more interesting for me because he knew I was not concentrating.

He came with some past questions and he said we should play a game and if anyone pass answer the questions correctly the other person will buy a bottle of coke for the person that has the highest score. We started answering the question at some point my attention came back to the class after answering the question I did not have the highest score then I bought him a bottle of coke. He now said he will give me an hour to study my book then we will answer the past questions again. That was when I concentrated on studying and before I knew it I almost understood everything from the note.

On the day of the exams, my two friends were not able to meet up after the award night and that made them not to study that night. When the exams start we were all shocked by the questions we saw on the booklets, it was unusual with the way our lecturer set his questions. Everyone was complaining but we had no option but to keep quiet and answer the questions. I read the exam questions for more than 30min yet I never knew what to write lastly, I decided to answer the question based on what I studied last night, and in some of the past questions we answered about two questions that were repeated.

After the exams, everyone was not happy, I even lost hope because I did not attend the awards night and yet I couldn't answer four questions out of eight even though I was in the class studying. The whole situation was annoying but I was still hoping and praying that I passed the exams if not I will spend another extra year before I graduate.

A month later our results were out, and it was uploaded to the school portals. I was so scared to check my result because I knew I did not do well in the last papers, all my three friends checked their results, Joy had D, which was 45% while mary and victory failed and they will repeat the class. It was my turn to check my result but I couldn't because I was so scared immediately Victoria collected the phone from my hand and checked the result for me and behold was so lucky to have a B which is 60%

Hummmm, I was so excited and immediately I called my guy to inform him and appreciated him for helping me that day, If not I couldn't have graduated that year with my colleagues.

This is a true life story with a lot of lessons to learn, I come to discover that defining our purpose will make us make the right decision at the right time.

I deprive myself of social activities I have planned to attend for a long time, though it was not easy with peers and my friend's pressure and I came out Victoria in my exams.

An important lesson to learn from this story is that always be focused when making a decision.

I had to battle with myself and I letter thought I made the wrong decision by not going to the party but in the long run, was victorious.

A good result for giving up on an important event planned somethings may turn out bad at the moment for good on the other hand. I invite @simonnwigwe @josepha and @mjerry to cone and participate.
