Hi friends, excellent content post from the steemit Philippines community. This is one of the most friendly topics anyone can participate in since it is all about one of our basic everyday needs, and also its common benefit and use within our environs. I will be making an entry on a topic, "Famous Street Foods in your Place".

There are so food commodities that will make this list given their importance and the role they play especially during this economic downtime. However, there are others that are also classified based on status and class due to what they intend to give based on their use. In this category of class and status, we have the beef and Chicken barbecue (Suya - Roasted meat).

The Suya is usually made from beef meat and it comes with a simple procedure during preparation. Let's see some of the procedures and ingredients for preparing the SUYA delicacy:

• It is commonly derived from beef meat or sometimes, especially from other meat from the poultry family and goat.
• This meat is sliced in a way that it can be stuck to a stick
• But before this, it is mixed with some ingredients to spice it which include; pepper and salt.
• After this mixture must have been made, it is placed on a burner to steam until it is done for consumption
• After it is done, it is either sliced into a plate and served or served still in sticks.
• Most times, onions and cabbage are sliced on the same plate while consuming it.

The cost of this item list is dependent on one's choice. Like the one in the picture, It is one of the affordable selected for use. But these are different price ranges;

This famous item is the most used delicacy in most outdoor events. Just as we can see from the sit-out, it can be combined with different kinds of drinks while having fun, be it alcoholic drinks or non-alcoholic drinks.

The other famous food on my list is one of the most commonly consumed staple food in my country. This is RICE. Rice is one of the most commonly consumed foods in my country and province. It is so bad that some people cannot stay a day without having a taste of this food. But one thing we must know is that it is a food that both the rich and poor consume without any form of segregation.

I am not left from this category of persons that find pleasure in consuming this kind of meal. It is actually one of my best meals, if not the best. The good thing about this meal is that, it can be prepared in different ways and with a longer shelf life. This makes it unique, appetizing, and easily sold by food vendors. In the eatery menu plan, this has a makeup of over 60% of meals prepared therein. It is also the same or more when the local food vendors in the streets are accessed.

Some of the different food menus derived from this food type include; Jollof rice, Mexican rice, Fried rice, Banga rice, pepper rice, rice, and beans, etc. It is so amazing that some of the different preparation also comes with the sauce used while consuming them. Sauce like Tomato stew, Vegetable sauce, Fruit vegetable sauce, etc. Anyway, let's see some of the displayed rice varieties I have prepared and also eaten as the case may be.

In preparing this meal, they all have the same thing in common which is rice. But they seem to have some varying ingredients used due to the combinations/Mixtures. Let's see some of these using the tabular presentation.

Cooking Procedures for Stewed Rice

• Per boil your White Rice for about 15 Mins and wash off the concentrated starchy water. Add fresh water and boil until desired softness is attained.
• Then for the Stew: pour the required vegetable oil as desired into a cooking dish and steem little.
• Add your tomatoes. In some cases, both Fresh and Tin tomatoes are used.
• Steam for a few minutes while you add your pepper and other spices, including salt and onion.
• Your Meat can be fried or boiled separately before adding it to the steaming pot of stew.
• Continue boiling your stew until the desired taste is achieved for at least 45 mins.

A sizable plate of this well-prepared rice and stew with at least a piece of meat goes for 1000 NGN which represents a 6.45 steem value. However, there are people who will like to have small portions of this food depending on their purchasing power. hence they buy that of 500 NGN which is a 3.22 steem value. This particular food has been a saving grace to many. It brings satisfaction even with smaller purchasing power. In fact, each time pass through the local food vendor, 98% of those patronizing the food vendor consume rice and stew. For them, it is the most ideal meal suitable for breakfast.

Conclusion

Most of the famous food on the street is actually life-saving meals aside from the ones that come with class and status as earlier mentioned. They are usually the common man's way of sustaining themselves, especially those that engage in menial daily jobs. They bring satisfaction and with low purchasing power, one can still get sustained.
