Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week 2:Bring Back Those Happy Family Moments

This was taken way back 5 years ago during Christmas month.
Though the picture was not that very good but it is so special to me. My father at the center and my sisters and brothers.
After almost two years of not seeing them the more I realized the value of each one. The pandemic draws us away from each other. Its difficult to go home and spend important moments with our family. Meeting them with our teenager generation kids. I miss them so much that if its easy to move back to my hometown island I already do it. But we knew it would take time and more things should be considered especially if we have our jobs here in the city.
I belonged to a wonderful big family. I have 10 siblings and my being the youngest makes me neutral on family relationships and concerns.
I don't know why a hometown vacation with my family cannot be compared to a three day spent in a luxury hotel. The food at its simplest is the best we shared. A fresh fish tinola, adobong pusit and seashells would complete our day. If we go swimming , the kids were tanned dark brown enjoying the beach while we the first family generation love to chat on family matters in front of boiled bananas or cooked cassava with coconut milk in sugar.
Me and my sister bestfriend would stroll around town on our old motorcycle visiting our aunties and uncles seeing our cousins.
Or we will go to the farm to drink buko juice and enjoy the tasty young coconuts "butong" freshly dropped down by Manong Karding.
We really made our best to go home once or twice a year to visit our father who is 87years old now.
Who always remind us by early September that we should be home on his birthday on December.
Now we prayed to Gid for this pandemic to end. That there are ways that we all go back to normal again. If not ways could be found so that situations will be better than before.
The value of love and time is compromised at this moment. We cannot hug our family and friends right away. The value of touch now becomes unsafe. Even a handshake is not allowed. And a call to comfort and express our concern could be the best that we can do to our family . Its better to do it now.
