Social networking is becoming a tool that is indispensable to every generation worldwide due to its simplicity of use. Facebook and TikTok are the most well-known and have been more popular when compared to other social networking sites like Twitter, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Instagram, especially with younger generations. Due to how simple it is to obtain information and news through social media, it has become more and more popular among people. Additionally, it has made it easier for us to communicate with others around the world.

As far as I can remember, I started using social media when I was 25 or 30 years old. I believe that was the beginning of the widespread use of social media. Facebook was the first social media platform I ever used. As Facebook was just becoming popular in my nation, it was a magical experience for us. But gradually, people in my country start using other social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and WhatsApp. Those days, in my country, there were no smartphones in use; instead, we only have computers. I occasionally went on Facebook as an employee of the organization, and I would have interesting experiences. Later, social media grew in popularity when smartphones were introduced in my country. All of the young people of today rely on these mobile social media platforms. I used to deal with social media addiction in my early years, but as I got older, I learned how to control it. These days, I hardly ever utilize those social media.

I believe that people should access social media at the age of maturity. By that age, people have been exposed to a lot of the outside world. They have the ability to recognize right from wrong. They are more adept at time management than children. People can therefore manage their use of social media by balancing its advantages and disadvantages.

Social media users should use proper discipline when managing their accounts. Using a Facebook account as an example, there are several control techniques accessible. It is important to have a fundamental understanding of social media and how it functions before using it. People need to understand the fundamentals of social media accounts in order to manage them effectively, as well as the tiny tips each social media platform offers.

I'm frightened by social media's potential. It is the most powerful weapon ever created. Today's kids are addicted to social media and don't want to interact with other people in real life. Particularly in terms of their family lives, they have no interactions. How therefore can we have faith in a just world?

Social media makes it simple for me to obtain information and receive news. Any social concern can be raised awareness through the usage of social media. The major benefit is keeping in touch with my son, who lives in overseas through online video discussions. It greatly aids me in my purchasing, educational, and knowledge-improving goals. I took full advantage of social media's ability to improve my kids' education. Last but not least, it helps me to spend my free time in a useful manner.

I can mention social media as one particular factor causing depression and anxiety in my life. Furthermore, it impedes my kid’s mental growth at certain times. These days I am practicing poor sleeping patterns, I believe the cause for that is social media. Finally, it badly affected my vision.

Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Tiktok are widely used in my nation. Some people have made Tiktok and YouTube their primary sources of income. Everyone in my nation uses Facebook, but the more educated people prefer Twitter and Telegram. Facebook and YouTube are the main platforms used by Sri Lankan politicians for their political propaganda.

Although social media is a powerful tool, one should carefully weigh the benefits and disadvantages before using it frequently. If social media is used properly, it can be beneficial to humanity.
