Daily Comment Challenge: My Environment and Me
First and foremost, I would like to reflect the kind of environment I am residing. It is surrounded by tall trees and luscious greeneries. Because of this, various tropical plants and edible plants are grown even without synthetic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers are more than enough to gain a good harvest.
I plant both ornamental plants to beautify my front lawn and I plant several edible plants in my backyard. Being self sufficient is an advantage to preserve the cleanliness of our environment.
I used to plant squash even in a little space. I would just let it grow and climb over our mansanitas tree! Now that I have wider space at the back, I bought a slice of squash at the nearby store. It cost me 25 PHP but I said I will make many squash of out of it.
That malonggay (moringa) is also the fruit of my labor. The crisp leaves when freshly plucked tastes good really. We have a cool environment which is suitable for these kind of plants.
When we cleared our ground to be replaced with squash, we were able to pull out some cassava. These plant needs little attention because they're sturdy plants. I was happy because We were able to cook some and some were grated for my cassava cake.
I let my buddy lit some dried Leaves to smoke out under the jackfruit tree. The purpose of which is to prevent internal damage of the giant fruit which is really effective. About 30 minutes would be enough for the purpose without damaging the environment.
The jackfruit tree is not a huge one but it didn't fail to give us delicious fruits where I can make sweetened jackfruit and jackfruit salad.
Chayotes or Pear Squash grow abundantly in a cool environment such as Canlaon.
We are blessed and lucky to have lived in a place where the environment is naturally cool and that's because of our legendary Mount Canlaon. Being more than 3 thousand feet above sea level explain why our environmental habitat differs from that of the other neighboring towns.
As as sign of good gesture to help our environment free from pollution, I for one, am among the many concerned environmentalists who believes in the noble endeavor to "Reduce, Reuse &Recycle" concept for the betterment of our environment so that our future generations will still be able to enjoy life and appreciate the beauty of Mother Earth!

It's really nice to have a garden in our backyard. Making a little nature reserve in one's backyard can bring about a sense of calm because it makes it seem as though the part of our own nature that makes us wonder as individual at a simple bud or the movement of foliage is also protected and maintained.
You're right sis. Who will enjoy the firsthand experience but you yourself. It's like dancing with the wind without remorse.
