How old are you when you start engaging in social media and how was your experience so far?

I started using social media when I was 10 years old, which was about 10 years ago. My first social media application experience was Facebook. I created my first account so I could chat with my uncle overseas, and that was when he got me my first internet phone as well.

My experience was extremely nice. As a young lady, I became addicted to it quickly because I had so much power with me. It was something to have fun with all the time, which meant no more lonely time for me. I was always chatting non-stop, and from there on, I got exposed to other social media platforms like 2go, Google mail, and others.

It was a great time for me, and as a matter of fact, I prefer the social media of then to now because things were easy to manage, and life was not as hard. Even as little as 100 MB of internet could last me a month and more. But now, things have turned around a lot, and social media costs a lot and is expensive to manage as well.

In your opinion, what is the right age for people to have access to social media?

I don't belief there is a certain age gap one should get before he/she start to use social media, however, as a general guideline, many social media platforms require users to be at least 13 years old to sign up on most social media.

I belief every child is different, and parents should use their discretion when deciding if their child is ready to use social media or not. It's also important to educate the children about online safety, privacy, and appropriate behavior on social media. Parents may also consider using parental controls and monitoring their child's social media activity to ensure their safety.

Generally, the decision should of the right age should be based on the individual child's maturity level and their ability to handle the responsibilities that come with the use of social media.

What can you say to people who are no longer responsible for managing their social media accounts?

In any case that someone is no longer responsible for managing their social media accounts due to some issues or the other, it's important for the person to take some of these steps to protect their privacy and prevent any harm.

1.Deactivate or delete the account: If the account is no longer needed, it's best to deactivate or delete it to prevent any unauthorized access or use.

2.Change passwords: If the account needs to be kept active, the person can change the password to prevent unauthorized access. You can also update the recovery email and phone number associated with the account.

3.Monitor the account: If someone else is managing the account, it's important that the owner himself monitor it regularly to ensure that it's being used appropriately and that no unauthorized activity is going on with it.

4.Report any issues: If there are any issues or concerns with the account, such as unauthorized access or inappropriate content, the owner should report it to the social media platform's support team immediately. As this can help with resolving any issues and securing the account.

It's always important to take measures to protect personal information and activity, even when someone is no longer responsible for managing their social media accounts.

What do you think our future will be with this social media power?

It's hard to predict exactly what the future will be like with social media , but one can provide some insights based on its current trends and it's past developments.

Social media has become a powerful tool for communication, and networking. It has transformed the way we interact with each other and has opened up new methods for businesses to reach their audiences.

Although, the impact of social media in our lives is not entirely positive. It has been associated with several negative effects, such as the spread of misinformation, and addiction.

In the future, we are likely to see that social media will continue to play an influential role in our lives, but I hope there will be efforts to regulate its negative effects especially in terms of cyberbullying. Governments, and tech companies should create a policy that will promote responsible use of social media and protect users from harm.

Hello oluwatimileyin (@negro-bby).

You are right, now being in a social network is more expensive, the new apps demand more power, more megas and that means spending more money by the user.

I also agree with you regarding the age to join a social network. It depends a lot on the individual, their education.

Your content is excellent.

Thanks for the great compliment on the content, the new internet is just a lot consuming than the past days , but I guess its something we just have to get used to.

You first used social media at a young age, and I can infer for you that 2go was one of the sites that gained a lot of traction at that time. A good post has been presented by you. I'm hoping for the best for you.

Thank you very much my good friend, it's of certain that All Gen Z must have passed their social media age with the use of 2go first.

Sure... And the memories and experience are evergreen
