Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week 3 | Strong Family Ties
Hello Steemit Philippines!!
Filipinos are known to be family-oriented people with strong family ties. This is one Filipino Culture that we can showcase to the world.
This photo was taken December 2014. Long ago when I had short hair and we still have two children. :D With us in the photo is my younger brother (not married yet this time), my other brother and his family and our father.
What our family usually do during Christmas before this pandemic is gather and celebrate Christmas together. Since we don't live all in the same island, we need to travel. Either my family will travel to Negros or they (father and other siblings) travel and come here in Cebu.
December 2014, it was our father and brother who travelled to Cebu and celebrated Christmas with us. My sister during this time was still working abroad so she joined us virtually. Our older brother with his family resides in Lapu-lapu City. They came to visit too and joined us in our Christmas celebration.
Our father is always happy to see his grandchildren and got to play with them. Our children are also excited to see their Lolo. But sad to say, this year, I guess, will be the second year that we won't be seeing him personally. Thanks to technology we are able to see our loved ones online and thru video call. We have our family group chat where we can update each other on what's happening with our individual families.
You know what's more exciting when our family get together? we are able to see our family have grown in number specifically with the number of grandchildren. LOL The picture above only showed five grandchildren. At present, our Papa have twelve apos. Growth right? :D
We, Filipinos always find time to bond with our loved ones and renew relationships specially during Christmas season. That is why, I always look forward to celebrating Christmas with my Father, brothers and sister.
The BER months just started yesterday, Christmas is just around the corner. Praying for a safe Christmas celebration for everyone this year.
