It was around December of 2019 when I started a water refilling business and thanks to God amidst the trials the world is facing right now we are still 100% operational.

It started with a simple dream of being able to start a water refilling business. I was still working in Saudi Arabia when a few of my colleagues were able to open the same business that I dreamt of.

Truly it did really help them to earn extra income, not depending on all the expenses of the family from the salary they would get from working abroad. Because in reality, it is never enough. With the increasing expenses and the prices of all basic commodities in the Philippines.

So that drives me to really do my best to be able to open a small water refilling business.

In the year 2018, I decided to go home to the Philippines for good, and maybe because of my ardent and consistent prayers to God almighty I was able to exit from Saudi Arabia with fewer hassles and all.

So in short, I did start again with my life without the convenience of receiving a fixed monthly income from my work abroad.

What is a Water Refilling Station

Putting up a lucrative venture of water refilling business in which a lot of people would really want to pursue is not easy bearing in mind the capital one needs to put up to be able to start that includes the purchase of the whole equipment and the place or area you will use that means the rent that you must pay every month.

This kind of business granting that you were able to choose a perfect location, that is an area very accessible to customers at the same time an area with fewer competitions, it can surely earn you a sustaining livelihood. Why? Because of the fact that you are selling something which is an essential commodity, the demand for water is endless that is why there is no need to really advertise your business, thus incurring additional expenses.

How it is given to me

Originally our space was being rented by a lessee engaging in a water refilling station. So they renovated the space to make it appropriate for the business.

In short, they were able to operate a water refilling station for almost one year until they decided to stop and transfer the equipment to another location, they choose to put it beside their house so they will no longer rent a space.

Now when the space is again open for rent and lots of people inquired and showed interest I was hesitant to accept the opportunity to earn again from the monthly rentals, because there was a desire in my mind to take over the business. So I already have the ready space and I only need money to buy the equipment needed.

But the problem is I don’t have enough resources. When someone needs around 500,000 pesos if he wants to put up a water refilling station 10 years ago, during the time where I started the business I only need around 150-200k pesos, that’s a lot cheaper compared to before.

The reason is suppliers and installers are also growing in number in the vicinity, so normally the result is, the more available suppliers/installers the lesser the price of the whole set up, it’s because they are competing amongst themselves such that if they won’t reduce their price chances are they could not close a sale and eventually won’t get a profit.

Now to make the story short, I was able to buy the whole setup although there were parts of the package in which I did pay within 3 months after I started the business.

Now it’s been a little more than a year since I started the business and it may not yield so much profit compared to other water refilling stations around but it nevertheless helped me and my family a lot, not to mention that I was also helping people (those who work for me) getting work for a living.

This morning I was the one who work at the station because my refiller is absent today, he needs to take care of his baby who is not feeling well. So I will be attending the customers the whole day with my son.
