For me to travel is to get the chance to learn new things, Hans Christian Anderson once said that to travel is to live, so it’s like to move, to breath…

I think human beings are designed to be nomads as our ancestors were in the past years. We moved from one place or another, we visit new places and explore the culture of the people living in that place.

To travel around the world is a dream for me. Although I also believe that I should visit beautiful and wonderful tourist spots in the Philippines before going out if ever I am given the chance to, considering the resources.

I am even considering exploring stunning tourist spots in my area, for there are a lot of great places to visit that are just adjacent to my residence. Although this time I understand it could be limited because of the pandemic.

Well, I am happy to have the chance to visit a beautiful tourist destination here in our place, just last Sunday. It wasn’t a planned outing but it just happened.

HUGO SKY LOUNGE / AMAYA VIEW

Actually, we visited two amazing places during that day but both of them were located in a vast mountainous area of Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.

So it’s basically part of the city where I live. Very convenient to visit especially when you have a car of your own although I also see taxi cab there so maybe you just have to pay the driver for the fare including the waiting time.

The Reason Why We were Able to get there

I did not expect that we could go there, I was actually having my class when my older sister came with our visitor from Bukidnon (my younger sister and her daughter) and asked me if I could drive because my brother in law had something to do or to fix with my car.

And since our online class is about to end (after 10 minutes), I told them yes. I can see the happy faces because if not because of me they cannot go there.

So I hurriedly fix myself and in just a few minutes we were set to go.

I was with my two sisters, my 2 daughters, the grandchild of my sister, my son with his classmates who happened to be at our house when we were about to go. My son asked permission if they can go with us. They brought their bikes with them.

PARKING LOT

This is their parking lot, as you can see it’s almost full so that means a lot of people were there that time. I also was delighted knowing that little kids were allowed to enter. Maybe because we are now under GCQ although I don’t see kids inside the mall, perhaps they are allowed to accept kids since the area is huge and guests can still observe social distancing.

DROP OFF AREA / RECEPTION

For those who are taking public utility vehicles, this is where passengers are dropped off, I think they also have shops/café in this building but I didn’t mind checking. I was already excited to proceed so I could have a glimpse again of the striking view.

Did I just say again? Yes actually this is my second time, I visited this place sometime in 2018 with the whole family. It was such a great experience but a lot of additional amenities are already being added in this place that is why if you really wanted to roam around and visit every part of it maybe you will need the whole day to do that.

AZUL INFINITY POOL

Introducing Amaya’s amazing infinity pool, one of the best swimming pools in the city. Designed for both kids and adults. Honestly? I'm not sure if I can try it because it's definitely so expensive. Too bad I haven't had the chance to see it in a closer look. Actually, we missed a lot of places in the area.

PARAGLIDING - FIRST IN CAGAYAN DE ORO

Amaya View also gives its guests a chance to fly. If you are adventurous enough you can try paragliding and get the chance to see the full view of the beautiful place at the same time the whole of Cagayan de Oro City.

Hmm for me it's quite scary but I know trying it will be a once in a lifetime that we will surely treasure for the rest of our life.

The photo above is part of Larry's Hill, definitely all of the kid's favorites. Here one can find various displays of huge robots. Kids and even adults join:

This area is also good for team-building activities.

And do you know it’s already Christmas in this place? I mean you can feel the holiday season already with their decorations. Look at these photos below, our little boy really enjoyed Santa Claus, maybe he knows that Santa will be giving gifts on Christmas day which is why as early as now he is already introducing himself to Santa.
