NO PLACE LIKE HOME (Part 1: The Reunion)
What's up my dear steemains, today I am very excited to share with you about my amazing trip to my home land, to the place where I left my heart and to which I certainly belong (Bohol). It's been almost 2 years that I haven't gone home due to the pandemic and that was very tragic for not seeing my parents for a long time. Loneliness has always been a friend of mine since the pandemic hit and I've waited for so long to meet my parents again for my longings for them, to my primary home and for everyone in there is unbearable time after time. I'm so glad that my older sister invited us to go home since restrictions were already terminated. So we finalize a date to pursue our plans. With me is my toddler and partner, for my older sister with her son and for my younger sister with her toddler too. But of course we decided to go together because the more the merrier.
We were very excited that even though it was still 5:00 am, everyone was already
awake. We went to Pier 2 at exactly 6:00 am but unfortunately, no more tickets were available for the 7:00 am trip via Tubigon, Bohol since the ports were flooded with passengers so we need to wait until 1:00 pm for the next trip. While waiting for about 6 hours we took selfies, and bonding with the kids. We didn't feel hungry because the feeling of excitement had surpassed all the emotions.
Atlas, it was 1pm already and we were already boarding to our destination. I was already imagining what could be the changes that might possibly occur to my hometown. Me and my sisters were also already planning on what to do since it happened that we will also celebrate the 76th birthday of our beloved Father. Everyone is wide awake even in a very sleepy voyage maybe because of the excitement to reunite with our love ones. The 2 toddlers too will about to meet their grandparents for the very first time. Two hours had passed and the boat finally touches Tubigon port. It was already 3pm so we drove fast to our final destination quickly since the weather began to be unkind.
We reached home safely but all in wet dresses. Finally, this is home. I hugged my Nanay and Tatay very tightly. We were crying in happiness because we missed each other too much. My parents were both grown older just like fine wine. Their grey hair justified their long existence and perhaps more. The grandson and granddaughter had already met their grand parents finally and a smile was drawn to everyone's faces. So, because it was father's birthday too, we prepared a simple dinner that was been shared by everyone. The joy precisely dominates from that moment on until the day ends.
That's all for today my dear steemians, follow me up for more adventure in my home town.
