Hello everybody,

May you all are in good situation and in good health anywhere in the World you are now.

My entry is about our raise chicken here at home.

When we move in here our new home last November, my son bought 5 chicken, Bantres, we call it. They are pure white. One male and four female. We just let them roam around our property. We did not buy feeds we just give them our extra foods like our cooked rice and some viand. They like the fresh gills of the fish when I wash the fish. Green grass is abundant in our surroundings they also eat them. After a two weeks we were happy to discover many eggs by the grasses. Yeah! We have fresh eggs.

That time I started gardening, flowers and vegetables in the container. Ho my, when my plants bloomed and grew tall, one morning I found out all leaves of my plants wiped out, they all eat it like the cosmos flowers and also the banana plant in front of the gate, no more leaves. They devour all of it. I was furious! So, I caught them and placed at the back of our house placing wires so they could not escaped.
But, I was sad no grasses there and when it rain they were all wet. I let them roamed around again transferring my plants to the next lot.

One day, one female chicken died we do not know the reason but we noticed she walk slowly for days. What could we do but to bury her at the back of our lot. Then, the following month another one female died again. We bury again. Another months passed by the male died because they had a fight with our dog, Butchak. She bite the male chicken. What could we do but bury again.

We made a big cage in front making fish net as their housing. The lot intended for my dream swimming pool is now chicken house. Why fish net so that there will be still grasses they could roam around. The amazing thing the three female still laying eggs without the male. We wonder why this happens. We concluded even though no male chicken still they can lay eggs.

Then, one day again, one female chicken died. So, for now two female left. Until now we harvest their eggs by the grasses. The eggs when we cook still complete with the yellow at the center and the white. Till now we do not have the explaination why they lay eggs without the male. Maybe one of you readers know the explaination kindly comment.

Just until here thanks for dropping by...inviting @jewel89 @aideleijoie @reginecruz to join here.

Hen don’t need rooster to lay eggs po hehe we have poultry farm before in Bohol. Hens do lay eggs on their own. Hehe only healthy chicken can lay their own eggs especially if they have enough calcium intake. They need calcium to create the hard layer of shell of eggs. 😊

Ahh, okey, but we did not give them feeds or laying mass.

A hen doesn’t need a rooster to lay eggs. They are a natural layers. We have a poultry when we were in ComVal. My Dad raised them and even have cross-bred. A crossbreed of hen and a duck. They are so cute!
