Early this month, there were huge changes with traveling from one island to another and it was in our favor. It is obvious that due to the pandemic, there are restrictions imposed for those traveling from one border to another. I remember when we traveled to Cebu in July of this year for Matti's cousin's birthday and it was a hassle plus expensive as we have to get antigen and swab tests, each of us costs Php 1500 for the antigen and another Php 2000 for the swab test. Imagine the hassle as well as the inconvenience. Plus, I got COVID during our trip. It was such a pain.

But again, this month, the borders had loosened up a bit. There are fewer patients and more numbers fully vaccinated individuals and so they had allowed traveling of fully vaccinated individuals to another border given that we could provide a vaccination certificate or vaccination card. This time, we don't have to spend a lot on the tests.

Then we planned on cleaning our house in Cebu City because it has been more than a year since we had left it, our stuff has been scattered around the house because when we were about to go to Bohol last October, we were in a hurry and I was just two months postpartum so I was still in a different kind of state that I wasn't able to think clearly what to bring.

So, in short, our house was a mess.

By Saturday, November 6, we traveled from Guindulman to Loon and took the Lite Shipping barge going to Argao, Cebu. We had another land trip to Cebu City and reached the SM Seaside just in time for dinner.

The next day, I spent the whole morning cleaning our house. There were so much trash and garbage. I had to throw many expired items. I also had contacted an aircon cleaner for split type because our AC had been home to some army of ants.

I wasn't able to finish cleaning that day. I had to continue on the next days because I also have a baby to attend but I am super thankful to our neighbor friend who let us stay in their empty room which is just beside our unit. We were spared from paying a room for rent.

The next day, I had to clean our comfort room, the balcony, and the wardrobe.

Our original plan is to get the house cleaned up, take all the things, and make it ready for renters but then, today, my husband and I somehow felt like it is not a good idea after hearing things from our collegemates who live in the next building and had opened their unit for rent before. They were left with so many things to fix when the renter flew away without notifying them.

So, the new plan now is to keep the room as clean as possible then we will be visiting the house every three months.

Living here with just my husband and baby gave us some breath of fresh air. It's like we were back to our previous way of living but this time, with our baby boy. We get to go to different places in Cebu City, eat out, go to the mall as kids are now allowed as long as there are fully vaccinated guardians and we love it. But we don't want Matti to grow up in this environment of course with no playmates and no green grasses to run.
