Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week #2 : T'boli Museum Family Moments
When the opportunity knocked at our family's door to travel to Mindanao, specifically South Cotabato, I planned our trip from departure to arrival in General Santos then to South Cotabato. I made sure that every single day, we have activities which are friendly to both kids and the oldies.
One of them is visiting the T'boli Museum. It was a rough road going there with only motorcycles as our vehicle. We traversed the muddy and rocky areas of South Cotabato from the Sunrise Garden Resort where we stayed towards the Punta Isla Lake Resort where we had lunch.
Our Habal-habal drivers were so kind to drop us at the T'boli Museum after waiting for us finish our lunch and great experience eating at a floating restaurant with a presentation of the T'boli dances and instruments.
We only get to pay a few bucks per person for the entrance fee and the museum is like a small house, taken care of by a single family but there are so many treasures inside, and the area was filled with cultural heritage that needs to be preserved for the next generation to see.
The T'boli people are now also slowly losing their culture as they begin to develop and learn at the same time the new technologies that are introduced to them. But this museum stood to its purpose.
We spotted music instruments used during ceremonies, accessories which T'boli women make, cloth patterns were truly interesting and those headdresses which I was identical to Miss Catriona Gray did wear once can also be found inside.
All of us appreciated the sculptures too, and we were allowed to take photos inside. I wish I could share with you every single detail by posting more photographs but that perhaps will be reserved for a longer blog.
As this is one great experience for the entire family, I made sure we keep photos of us at the entrance, thanks to the accommodating habal-habal driver for taking this image. We will forever treasure what we learned inside the museum.

I have always wanted to try this floating restaurant when I have visited the extreme South. Good to see that a lot of your family members were able to experience it and be able to capture this moment that you are all together here. Thank you for sharing.
yes, it was an opportunity that we don't want to miss so we grabbed it and traveled with the entire fam!
