Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week 1 : Jean with Gueitou Mountain at Yehliu Geopark
March 2019 when my husband became a part of their company's five-year club member. This is a perk for all the employees who reach five years and more within the company. As part of the perk, each year, the company sponsors its employees for a trip. This was the first out of the country, the previous years were all domestic trips. The next year, was in Malaysia but because I was pregnant, we didn't pursue it.
In our Taiwan trip's third day was a tour to Yehliu Geopark, and it took around an hour and a half travel time from Taipei to Yehliu. We were on a tour bus, this was a whole day trip and we had other places to check out too but Yehliu was the first on the list.
We arrived at around nine in the morning I guess and the place was already packed with tourists. Note that this was pre-pandemic so people were without face masks. This is nearby the sea, some said it might be one of the locations of the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden which was one of my childhood favorites.
There are certain things to check here, one is the Queen's head, the rocks here have been eroded by the sea that it creates different shapes and one that is very astonishing is that specific rock that forms like a Queen's head, thus the name. The only unfortunate thing is that it is flocked by tourists and so the line is long. There's a replica of it in the entrance area too and our tour guide said it is better to take photos there because we only have 30 minutes to stay in this spot, can you imagine how we managed to enjoy this when we only have 30 minutes? Our tour guide was also very strict although he has a happy face.
I asked my husband to take a photo of me with the “Gueitou Mountain” cuesta at the back. There are two cuestas in Yehliu, the other one is called “Big Cuesta”. A cuesta refers to a kind of ridge featuring a stiff slope on one side and a gentle slope on the other side.
Can you see the people behind me? The queen's head is located over there and each one has to line up to be able to take photographs, I didn't bother waiting. My husband and I just enjoyed the view and making memories with the photos we took. I also took a photo of him with the cuestas as background.
Fun fact: It was very cold over there that I was freezing after taking this photograph. Smiling was required and I like my photos to be a little candid.

Ang ganda ng lugar jean at smg ganda ng privilege ng asawa mo sa work niya. God bless!
Quite an experience that needs to be captured! Thank you for sharing dear.
What a beautiful place.
what a very nice place
Wow ang ganda!
Awesome photo of course coming from you. It's like you are already it and the reason for us to judge is to only look for small flaws already. (this is meant as a compliment). The only thing I could say is that the mountain is the subject and why is it the one that is blurred. Probably it was already really far. No worries, we are still looking forward for more of your entries.
