STEEMIT PHILIPPINES MAJOR CONTEST: My Christmas Preparations - The Spirit Of Christmas @joshuelmari || 20% payout of this post goes to @steemitphcurator

Everyone, have a wonderful day! The Philippines is known for having the world's longest Christmas season. Because Filipinos consider the months ending in the syllable 'ber' to be Christmas months, holiday preparations begin as early as September. The feast of the Epiphany, also known as the Feast of the Three Kings, takes place on the first Sunday after the New Year. Christmas is a time for Filipinos to put their personal problems aside and embrace the spirit of giving and sharing for a change.

The country's holiday season is unique and interesting due to its history, customs, and traditions, as well as the appealing decorations. Christmas is a time when everyone shines their brightest. It's more than simply a party; it's a joyous opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Recycled Christmas Tree and Decors

  • Cleaning The Whole House Before Decorating

Christmas is one of the few occasions when we all spend time with our families at home. Homemade dinners, family activities, warmth, and comfort are all part of the holiday season. And, while there are many things to do in preparation for the holiday, such as shopping, baking, cooking, and decorating, cleaning, and preparing your home come first.

Christmas decorations are frequently left up until New Year's Eve, and occasionally even a few days after that. This is why, before putting everything together, it's a good idea to dust around the house one more time. Cobwebs on ceilings and corners of walls are the same way - getting rid of them before the holidays will make decorating easier (and more pleasurable).

  • The Significance Of Nativity

Sharing and reflecting on the actual spirit of Christmas is one of the best ways to celebrate this holiday season. Christmas is truly about love. Christmas is a joyous occasion because of the attitude of giving and sharing that exists among family members and friends. Giving allows us to be remembered, and it also allows us to show that we remember those who are dear to us. It's not about the gifts we get or the food we eat; it's about giving without expecting anything in return. Like the baby Jesus who was born in a manger and grew up to be our Savior.

Laguna is well-known for its wood carvings, and the Nativity or Belen is one of their most masterpieces. This is a repurposed Nativity set. I got it some years ago with my office mates when we traveled to Paete, Laguna to seek wood carvings to give as gifts to our international visitors, and I adore the nativity set. It's a little pricey, but it's well worth keeping, and it's the most precious and significant decor we own (I also have a miniature of it but ceramics made).

  • Poinsettia or Stella di Natale or Christmas Star: The Christmas Flower

The poinsettia, which my mother refers to as Stella di Natale or Christmas Star, is the traditional Christmas flower. This flower is one of my favorites. During the short holiday season, poinsettias are quite easy to maintain alive. If you like, you can keep them as a houseplant.

I bought the pink color variety this year and placed it on our front door. Poinsettias create a festive touch to any room, and they're relatively low-maintenance houseplants (if you can remember to water your fresh Christmas tree, you can keep a poinsettia alive). You can create colorful displays to match just about any style with the many different varieties of poinsettias available.

  • Ideal Gifts For Kids Who Comes For Their Christmas Rounds

At each stop, food and drinks are also given. It's a day for family reunions, and everyone hopes for happiness and good health. Typically, children are given a gift, such as candy, money, cookies, or toys. As they make their way to their Christmas round, children enjoy counting their Aguinaldos (gifts). The youngsters will always be served food to eat in every home they visit because every family has prepared something special for this day.

This Christmas, I've asked my cousin to bake cookies for me so that I can give them to the kids who come knocking at our gate, asking for their "Pamasko." I bought chocolate candies to give to the kids last year. They were even happier when they exited our gate holding a gift. Sharing your blessings, no matter how small, brings delight to their hearts. That is the Christmas spirit.

May the Christmas miracle fill our hearts with warmth and love as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, my dearest SteemitPhilippines Community, and Steemit Family.

Inviting @mers @reginecruz @aideleijoie to partake in this Major contest of our dear community #SteemitPhilippines and have fun

Your house looks so grand Ate Joyce, so lovely, looks like a showroom in a mall where they showcase nice living rooms furnishings with beautifully covered throw pillows. That's exactly how I felt looking at your living room photo. I think you have a ceiling, am I right? That is great so lots of air circulating inside and you don't feel claustrophobic.
Poinsettias are always the star plants when it's Christmas season, love those pink varieties. The best one I love is your nativity display. Reminded me of the English decorations usually in European houses they always have the Nativity ornaments adorning their home during Christmas. Had a small glimpse of your garden too and I love the manicured green lawn. You have good taste ate,
Thank you for the invite but I don't have a single Christmas decor at our house now. I don't know, I am just not in the mood putting up some decorations. They are all in storage. My angels, my ribbons, bells, balls, wreaths, etc. I think I'll pass for this year, 2 years in a row now.
Hopefully next year I might put up my decors but for now we celebrate Christmas from the heart.
Love your post ate, as always!

Lately medyo napabayaan. Dna kaya ng powers ko.

Maganda po pala parang all year round may display kayo.

Oo, Joie.
