Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week #3 : The Resiliency Of Filipinos
Hello Kababayan!
This is my very first time participating in this weekly photography contest of the community. I find it so much contemplative as this allows us to discuss and enliven in mind our cultures, traditions, practices, or even characteristics that serve as the trademark that distinguishes us from the rest.
It is very evident that along with the fast pace of modern life are the major shifts. And it's undeniable that some of these compromise our values and beliefs as Filipinos, isn't it?
This is I and my colleagues after the short meeting about the set-up for the School Year 2020-2021. These smiles tell me only one thing, and that is, despite the trials and circumstances, life should still be lived the way it should be! The show must go on!
Well so much of those which are compromised and put at stake, there's still a whole lot of good that prevails especially when it comes to the distinguishing characteristics of "Pinoy". I know we really have a lot, and one of these which I'm very much interested to talk about here is our being resilient, the resiliency of us Filipinos.

Resiliency is one of the things that I am proud being a "Pinoy". We always manage to rise above the challenges. We smile at our storms.
I could still remember the particular scenario from the TV news when a typhoon hit the northern part of the country where the houses were drowning and that the people were on the roofs waiting for the rescuers to reach them, they were all wet busy saving themselves up, but as the camera reached them, they smiled, waved "Hi", as if nothing had happened.
Even in this time of pandemic, our resiliency is very much apparent. As the restrictions are getting tighter, we also are making ourselves "Plantitas and Plantitos", little chefs and cooks, star dancers on Tiktok, actresses and actors on Youtube, and CEO for small online businesses. How's that?
Mayhap, we complained, but we were never in the corner doing that for the rest of the time. Yes, we struggle too like anybody else, but this is us, we always manage to find peace in the chaos, joy in the pain, laughter in the sorrow, and opportunities in the challenges.
To sum up, we are like balls that rebound everytime we are dropped. Well, that's "Tatak Pinoy".
