"Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week 3: Religious Belief"

A blessed wonderful day to all steemians here in #SteemitPhilippines. I am @hae-ra from Cebu and I am so grateful to partake this another contest with the theme: Filipino Cultures.

We, as Filipinos, has a lot of cultures and traditions that we used to follow from our ancestors.

RELIGIOUS BELIEF

Filipinos are very known to being religious. It is one of our cultures that cannot be broken. But it doesn't matter whatever religion we belong, what's more important is we all believe in the power of God through our faith and devotion.

As a Catholic and devotee, I supposed to go to church every sunday, but sometimes I missed it.

This photo was taken during the 9 days novena for Sinulog in honor to Sto. Niño. Sinulog is one of the biggest event in Cebu which a lot of people and even tourists are longing to witness. But because of this trying times, unlike before, the pilgrim is being used for just a limited number of attendees. This happened on January this year. A lot of changes happened since pandemic. However, being a strong believer, no one can stop us to go to church to offer prayers and thanksgiving for being blessed and to ask guidance to the Almighty. Attending this novena was like a mission to me to be able to achieve the 9 days. But because of the strict protocols, the face to face mass was just being continued online. Despite the hardships and circumstances that we are facing today, I was still so thankful for it that I completed those 9 days novena.

Religion is also one of the biggest factors that helps create good and moral values in our daily life. I woke up in this world with full of ups and downs, and the struggles and challenges that I have been encountered. But with my faith, and being a strong believer, I know that God is always guiding me in every step of the way.

In addition, Catholicism is one of the denomination of Christianity which became the most embedded part in Filipino culture.
