"Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week #1: The Funny Journey to Bomod-ok Falls"

in Steemit Philippines3 years ago (edited)

Greetings to all here in #SteemitPhilippines, especially @steemitphcurator thank you for organizing such a wonderful contest, the fact that I am also a travel-lover. Today, let me share my throwback travel that happened in 2016. This was in Bomod-ok Falls.

Philippines is rich in natural resources. It has a lot of stunning and beautiful spots which tourists are longing to see and must visit to experience it's beauty, and how amazing it would be.

Way back this year, we planned it all along with my colleagues who's been longing to have a travel outside Cebu. So, we booked this tour package a year before it happened, and Bomod-ok Falls was one of our itinerary bucket list on it.

Bomod-ok Falls is one of the popular amazing attractions that could be found in Sagada. By having the name, the word Bomod-ok means "Big", and so thus the name of the falls derived from The Big Falls! It is really big with 200 meters waterfall surrounded by rice fields and other grown plantation. From the main road, we had to cross a small village and do the trekking down the mountain for about 5,000 steps in about 3 hours. Yes, you read it right. Akalain mo yon? Pero kung sanay naman kayo sa adventure, di kayo aabot sa 3 hours trekking going there. And before anything else, we had to had a tour guides that must be guiding the way. We had to went through with almost a 70 degrees steep pathways. That's why they gave us stick or tungkod to each one of us, that served as our support or pantukod while walking through the trail forest. We also brought water kasi ang layo layo talaga before we could reach and see the water falls' beauty. While in the middle of long walks, some of us were just wandering here and there, because of having wide imaginations, di kasi namin mapigilan mag isip ng kung ano ano, like baka may ahas sa dadaanan o baka my biglang sumulpot na tigre diyan sa tabi, something like that. 😃😃 But, even if it was a bit scary there, we were still enjoying the lovely fresh environment. The greeneries that surrounds the whole place was so amazing and relaxing.

After the struggles of our long walks, we reached the exact destination with the smile of our faces, though it was so tiring. And we could say that it was really worth the wait. Upon arriving the exact location, we were amazed by it's majestic beauty. The sound of the flowing water from the falls that you can not resist to touch. The tour guides told us that it is their source of water in the area. This Bomod-ok Falls never fail to allure us. After a tiring trek, we were given a chance to have enough time to enjoy the moment. So, some of our company were soaking their body on the cold flowing waterfalls, and some of us just enjoying the view with it's cold murmuring flows.

When we go back, we had this another trekking for 3 hours going up to the staging area again. But this time, we were asked by the tour guides to choose two ways going up. First, is we had this easy way, where we would have an exit at the jeepney station, and we could rent a jeepney to take us back to the staging area, which is there's an exciting part where we could experience the top load ride to see the overlooking beautiful view of Sagada mountains. Secondly, the difficult way is the way that we used to do while going down with the 70 degrees steep pathways. And if we chose this, we no longer knew how many containers of water we could drink after taking a long journey going up with this kind of heights. 😃 And of course, we chose the first choice, but it still made our legs cramped all the way 'coz we still had to do the trekking with almost the same hours. We had a lot of stops in the center of the field. Biruin mo naman, while walking, some of our colleagues were so funny. In the middle of our journey, some of them were having a sudden "stomach climate change". 😂😀 So they looked for a certain spot to hid there and did the ceremony, ahahahaha. Dahon ng bayabas lang, sapat na raw. 😂😂 (Pasintabi na lang sa mga kumakain jan, please). ✌

We've been also to a place that we were hesitant to approach the people, but in Sagada, they were very accommodating. They also gave an assurance for the safety of the tourists. With this, no wonder that it is one of the list of beautiful attractions in the Philippines, because of it's amazing beauty, not just the outside, but also the inside. (It means that the outside beauty belongs to the attractions, and the inside is the people in Sagada).

It was really a tiring, yet a funny journey to us. Who would have thought that it turned out to be like that. But after all, my once in a dream travel, I made it possible to happen. Because I really wish to experience the outside Cebu travel way back then.

That would be all with my Travel Escapade Photography. I hope you enjoy reading. Thank you for dropping by. God bless us. ❤
