The Diary Game: November 07-08, 2021/ Bonding with my childhood friends

On October 31, 2021, my friends and I decided to do waterfall hopping in our neighbor municipality: Bacolod Lanao del Norte , and after that, we will going to visit the newly opened tourist attraction still on Bacolod, LDN, supposedly on November 07, 2021. So my other friend name Leslie was trying to contact a motorcycle (aka Baja or bao-bao) for the 6 of us all girls, but our other friend name Michellyn told us that we can’t fit for that since it is small, so she suggested a van for us to rent. Luckily, my cousin’s boyfriend who is our childhood friend named Cobing (his nickname) that is now a police officer has a 1-day break on Sunday, and his family has a van and, he agreed that he'll be our driver and there will be no rental fee, the only thing that we will do is to pay the gasoline.

The night before our trip, we were so noisy on our group chat on Facebook deciding on where are we going because we were all indecisive adjusting the schedule since our friend name Michelle who has a working schedule on 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm on November 07, 2021, and Cobing’s family van is available on 10 am.

On the next day, the van arrived near my cousin’s house, and we were still undecided until I told them that we are going to Divine Mercy in El Salvador, Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. Our time was shortened because we were taking shortcuts in Iligan City not until that the roads we're taking are closed there is no signage for that.

Lunch

We took a stopover in Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape and Seascape to have our Lunch alongside the road because our time was consumed on the roads that we were taking in Iligan City to avoid the heavy traffic. The vehicles who passed by were looking at us because it feels like we were just having a picnic alongside the road. Haha

we were supposed to go inside the Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape and Seascape but our driver didn’t stop. Haha

Divine Mercy

When we arrived at Divine Mercy we were busy writing down our information for the contact tracer, so we assigned 2 people and, I am one of them who will write down our names and, after writing names, Michellyn and I bought 8 kamoteng kahoy and went directly to where we are going to wear a long skirt and for the males are long pants. Still, Michellyn and I were so noisy because we were laughing at our friend who’s name is Czar aka Daboi.

Daboi is supposedly not invited because we want all girls but we realized our driver: Cobing is the only guy in the pack, so when we saw Daboi we invited him to ride along even though he didn’t know where are we going, he was only wearing his casual house attire and even wearing sleepers.

We took a picture for ourselves and, after that, we went to the heart of the Divine Mercy and prayed, then the 4 of us went to the lower part of Divine Mercy to light up the colored candles that we bought before entering Divine Mercy. So instead of going to Cagayan de Oro City, we decided to head back since it was already 3 pm and Michelle has worked on 6:30 pm.

We were half asleep when Cobing: our driver took a different route in Gitagum and took us to Laguindingan. I told them that my great grandparents were living in Tubajon, Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental when I was still a kid, that’s why I am kind of familiar with the place because of the Mangroves, not until our driver headed straight to the beach resort in Tubajon! HAHA So we make a turn on our van and head straight to the Laguindingan road, but instead of staying there for a while to take a photo, we just passed for we are in a hurry for Michelle’s work.

When we got to Iligan City around 5 pm, I thought that we are going home but instead, Cobing our driver headed to one of the famous coffee shops in the town which is Bo’s Coffee, so I was wondering why are we doing a stopover at a coffee shop then Michellyn told me that we can’t make it to Michelle’s work if we are going home because of the heavy traffic. We were having chit-chat outside the coffee shop while drinking our coffee, frappe, and eating our food some other tables were looking at us because we were so noisy as if we own the place.

Dinner

Michelle decided to stay in a suite for her work while the rest of us bought a barbeque for our dinner and waited for her in the suite’s garage from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. While waiting, we were having our chit-chats, and the boys were playing games or watching videos for NBA. After Michelle’s work, we were looking for a store open, and luckily there's one of the 7/11 branches in the plaza near the police station in the town that is still open (most of the branches or stores are closed because it was already 10 pm and the curfew hours is in 12 mn).

They prepared the foods that we bought for our dinner and carried our only rice in the big rice cooker, while Michellyn and I went inside the 7/11 store to buy our plates, cups, and ice cream. We were so hungry at that time and we didn’t care for the people who were watching us. We were eating on 7/11 as if we were just having a picnic beside the beach, and even though we were so hungry, we still have the energy to joke around.

After eating, we rest for a while and took our picture taking then we headed straight back to the suite that we’re staying. My cousin and his boyfriend: our driver and Daboi are going home while the rest of us 5 are going to stay in the suite since Michellyn wants to stay for her work too and she wants us to stay until the next day.

Next Day

Before leaving, Michellyn will extend her stay in the suite for the next few days, and she told us that we need to eat our breakfast first before heading home. We went to the nearest “carenderya” in the suite in front of the mall and bought our food. While eating we were still having our non-stop chit chat and when we look at the clock it was almost 11 am, so that’s when we leave after eating, and we also leave Michellyn in the Suite.
