City Life.
Then I saw my over due pechay. It was ready to harvest since this only takes one month to grow supposedly given that it has taken care of with the right nutrients it need for growing. But this second time planting in a bucket, leads to poor nutrition that is why the plants did not grow that well. It was still good.
I pulled it out and I remembered Grace, my friend. The one that visit me always at the shop for a Tirintas everyday and a bit of chika chika. We talked about just anything while braiding her hair. I once shared Steemit to her because she was asking what I was busied for on my phone as if I am so serious writing to a chatmate.hahah. Then she saw my photo posted on Facebook about the first harvest of pechay on the bucket. She commented there and asked of it but I said how shame it was only three plants and I cooked it all for breakfast. She said if I still had more, she liked it because it looks so fresh. Pechay she said is better planted on your own than the one you can buy at the market because it is leafy vegetables and it must be pesticide free. I said just wait for a month because I would plant another batch for her. We both laughed because you know, who likes to wait for that. It was just a simple jokes to lighten up the conversation.
Then two months pass from that convo about pechay. I did replant the bucket because I still have lots of seeds. It was still good and sprouted after putting it an the bucket soil. I spreaded it out. Some survived, some weathered and others were eaten by the birds. Birds like to eat pechay sprouts. It might be like a salad for them. I saved few just enough for the capacity of the bucket and let it grow for itself. My neighbors who had buckets outside from the their aircons watered it sometime if their buckets were full. So that day I pulled the pechay, I was thinking about my neighbors who watered it also. Surely they would notice that it was gone later. It was on our way near the staircase so they saw it all the time. They are used to my hobby of planting on the terrace. They even gave their used plastic water gallons for me to plant more.
I brought the pechay at the shop and gave it to Grace. True to what I said 2 months ago. I did not give much attention to it but this time I was thinking what a simple words can reciprocate and multiply joy. She was happy. I could sense it and I was more than glad. Kindness begets kindness it supposed to be since this girl is also kind to me. It was simple but when you give with a light heart, you surely get appreciated. Simple joy is what it is and that is what I am aiming for in living. Attention to little things is a great things.
Have a blessed day friend.
