Steemit Philippines Open Mic Week # 6/ My OPM entry/ Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan

in Steemit Philippines3 years ago (edited)

Hello Everyone.
I wish to share to you my entry for @Olivia08 open mic contest.
So funny guys, I just have to share this with you. I was already prepping and singing and did the video. Then I told my mom about my entry she replied, OMP ha! ahahaha. The song I did a video was an English song not an opm. So I have to make another one. This song I recorded finished past midnight last night then my son finished doing the editing 1am because we travelled yesterday and got back home late already. So, I was not able to upload this late last night. Anyways, my apologies for the sleepy red eyes, transparent eye bugs and tired face. I wanted to sleep already but I have to finish the video because after I am done posting this we will travel back again to Zambales for the last night's wake of hubby's aunt. Tomorrow will be her interment. We will be there up late later tonight.

My song of choice titled, Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan came to me last night from a divine intervention. I was already really very tired and I cannot think of any song to sing. It's like my mind froze. Then of course, my immediate reaction, PRAY and so I did and asked for my angels and guides and my higher self about their suggestion. So, they are the one's who chose this song to share to you.

Lyrics of the song:
Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan
Kuh Ledesma
Paano kita mapasasalamatan
Sa puso mong sa aking naibigay
Ngayon lamang ako ng mahal nang tunay
Sa tanang aking buhay
Sapat na ba ang ako ay mangako
Mananatili ka dito sa aking puso
Paano kita mapasasalamatan
Sapat na bang mahalin lang kita
Magpakailan pa man
Ngayon lamang ako ng mahal nang tunay
Sa tanang aking buhay
Sapat na ba ang ako ay mangako
Mananatili ka dito sa aking puso
Paano kita mapasasalamatan
Sapat na bang mahalin lang kita
Magpakailan pa man

This song, sang by Ms. Kuh Ledesma really touched me. It made me think about my mother @jurich60, my grandmother, Nanay Rodora my mom's mother. When I was still single and of course living with my parents and my grandmother. We never had the chance to say "thank you" for the life, for the guidance for taking care of us for providing for us because our home was a bit chaotic that time. My dad who is a perfectionist always spanks us for just a tiny spec of a reason. Like not sweeping the floor properly, not washing the plates properly not waking up early and many many more. Of course as child, one could not perfectly execute these household chores, the insurmountable, never ending chores. Since I am the eldest I have to bear everything. When my dad spanks he is not contented with just a simple whip it always ends up me, us drawing blood. I guess, he just loves seeing us bloody and in pain like excruciatingly painful. So, I grew up hating my dad.
When my grandmother came to live with us, my dad was working abroad. The cries of frequent spanking stopped and mellowed. I learned a lot form my grandmother. I guess, what I am now I got it from her. Like she wants every thing clean and in order, the house should always be well kept, spic and span. No dirty clothes hanging all around, place them in the hampers right away. No wet towels draping elsewhere it must be hanged properly. The kitchen and the toilets must be the cleanest place in the house. Well I got this from my dad as well. I guess they are both alike when it comes to maintaining everything in the house be it inside or outside. So, in our house there are more cries than laughter.

Now, as I grew older, I tend to understand why they behaved that way, so strict, an utter disciplinarian. I never approved of spanking kids just to teach them a lesson or two. My son is so lucky because he never experienced any spanking just kind words and loving words from me and his father. I never laid my hands on him with anger but he always receives love from me. I want him to experience the things that I don't have growing up and one of those things are kindness, understanding, Love, thoughtfulness, Patience and many more positive attributes and qualities a good person must have. I want him to have balanced EQ and IQ both must go hand in hand and in equilibrium. My dad has a very high IQ, his professional record is quite impressive. Having two masters degree in Engineering which he took in Thailand as a US Aid scholar then he has Masters degree in Management as well in UP, Cebu plus other bachelors degree as well because he just loves studying so much, growing up we have so many books in the house but the problem is his EQ (emotional quotient) is not that good.

Emotional intelligence, measured as EQ (emotional quotient), is the ability to identify and manage your emotions and the emotions of others. It helps you navigate and manage tough personalities at work while guiding your ability to display empathy, demonstrate active listening, and work successfully as part of a team or even in the smallest unit of the society, The Family.

I guess, my dad has that in him but he just doesn't know how to show it to us. So, I never heard the words I love you from them even from my mom and from my grandmother. They are not vocal. I am so lucky I am not of those persons who hold grudges. In fact I am ever so grateful for them because I thought maybe if my upbringing were like our neighbors kids before who don't value their parents that much because they were spoiled and don't really know much about life, how to be mature at a young age so they ended up pregnant teens.
So, in a lighter note maybe our father just wants us to know from his own hands how cruel the world is, so what better way to experience it but from him so when we were out in the world we would then be ready. OMG! that's just my assessment.
For my mom, we've had our fair shares of disagreements over the years. We quarrel at times but in the end we just make peace with each other. I believe these arguments, disagreements only strengthened our bond together, we were tested and tried as a mother and daughter specially when our opinions don't equate with one another. I guess there must always be an opposition to everything which I think is what makes life more meaningful and beautiful in some ways.

Anyways, I just wan to take this opportunity to thank them. For all the unique ways of showing their love for us. I surely did learn a lot. So this song is like my Thank you for them. I can't thank them enough for giving us life, to be able to experience life to the fullest. If not for them I wouldn't be here writing my blog and sharing to you my life story.

I wish to say my THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU, Ymmom and Addy and also Nanay Dora who is now in heaven.

Love you all,

Yes Jewel girl, I've come to realize that carrying hatred in our hearts would only bear fruits to more pains and sorrows. These hatred and grudges only deprives me and robs me of my own happiness. So, I choose Love. It takes a lot of courage and Divine intervention to overcome and surpass everything. I am glad I have my ten thousand, my spirit guides and my symphony of angels behind me, always reminding me that they have my back with God in the middle of it all.

Thank you Jangards this is in a way a healing because it is never easy to say na you have forgiven someone if you haven't truly forgiven them. I just wish to share and impart that it is never good to hold a grudge because there are just so many things in this world that we don't really understand and some things aren't what they seem to be. Forgiveness is liberating so a person can move on and succeed in life. It is not good to dwell and live in the past, that is where the past belongs in the past. The important thing is to not repeat them specially if it scars a person.

Now, we should and must focus on the present Because that's the most important thing and we should live it in peace and with love. I think that is the path to being more than a human being but you are now on the level of your higher self, your truest and highest expression of yourself.
The God like person that we truly are for remember we were created in his own image and likeness so we are God himself.
