Greetings fellow steemians, it is yet another great opportunity to write in season number 3 of week number 2 here in the steemit engagement challenge contest organised by this noble community. Just like the previous, this week also came with a very unique topic which says we should write a letter to our five-year-old self, telling him/her what we have learned so far.

My dear five-year-old self, it is a pleasure to write to you this letter on this faithful day. This letter will help and guide you to avoid so many mistakes and also become a better person in the future if and only if you adhere to the advice I'm going to be giving you here. Let's start.

The journey of life is indeed filled with many ups and downs. You make a lot of mistakes as you go ahead. One of the most important things I want you to know today is that it is not always greener on the other side. Most times you may think your situation is the worst and you wish to be like someone else but the truth is that you should always be yourself because if you find yourself in the shoes of the other person, you may not be able to walk with. In essence, just be contented with what you do.

As a young person growing up, you will see your mates doing better than yourself and most times you will want to be like them but you may not be able to do all the dirty things they have done to get there. Just relax and be focused, I should have learned to work harder and wait for my own time. Not all that glitters is a goal so anyone you see doing well today started from scratch, you too can make it.

I never had the opportunity to be guided in this way, so I must say you are very lucky. I thought the world will continue to revolve around me because of the comfortable life I had. I never care about anyone and I do things at my will. I hurt a lot of people as I was growing up just because my parent had some little cash. Most of the people I made trouble with today are doing very well and I can't even approach them. So my dear self, you are still young and naive, you should treat everyone with respect because no one knows tomorrow.

If only I was able to treat everyone around me with love while associating with friends at that moment. I grow up isolated because no one wants to associate with me. After all, I was rude to them and also thought their parents are poor. I wish I was nice to all those in my life and have the principle that it is not always greener on the other side. Immediately after my parents retired, life became more difficult and since I was living extravagantly, it was difficult for me to adopt.

My dear self, always put yourself in other people's conditions and then feel exactly what they are feeling, in that way you may not have any form of regret in life. Even when you fall, there will be hands to lift you. But when you scare people aware, then you will be the only one struggling for survival when things go wrong. The saying if you want to go far then you should move with other people is true because their journey may be slow but anytime you get tired they will help you to continue.

Through the journey of life, you will learn a lot. Despite all this, I'm glad to say it was never too late to start. You can start from now and build your way up. I'm happy to tell you that after reconciling myself with the people around me, my education became easier and faster. Currently, I have attained my BSc certificate all to the glory of God and through the help of people around. So never ignore anyone, the people you least expect will be your helper.

Conclusion

In this contest, I have been able to pour out all my worries, mistakes and achievement. I never understood life until I grew up e and the stones I was supposed to use and climb up were destroyed by myself. So to my five-year-old self, this is a mistake I wouldn't want you to make no matter what. And remember that it is never too late to start. I want to invite @josepha, @jasminemary and @dave-hanny to join this wonderful contest.

Thank you my friend for honouring my invitation, your comment on this post is highly appreciated.

It is a good thing that as we grow older, we learn important life lessons, now we dish out advices to younger ones, not only our younger selves, infact everyone picks a point or two irrespective of age.

Thanks for your letter.

It is a great relief to observe that you have seen where the problem came from and you had it fixed. The fact that you did not push the blame around is interesting. Your younger self will definitely do better and will achieve more in less time.

Thanks for the comment my friend, i will also look at your post too.

Your younger self will greatly appreciate the advice given to him, so much truth and acknowledgement of mistakes.
No better way to be fair in judgment than to first place one's self in the shoes of others. Points should be seen from all angles and decisions taken with so much care. Your younger self will be alright as long as he follows your warnings and advice.

Best of luck in this challenge @simonnwigwe
