Lasso Tool

The second tool in the toolbox is called the Lasso tool, which has the same functions as the Marquee tool but you can select the area by custom and by irregular shapes. Using this tool you can draw on any object of a photo and select the drawn areas for cut or copy purposes, however, you can change the are s by its color, lighting, brightness, darkness, hue, saturation etc.

There are three types of Lasso tools in the toolbox, when you click on the Lasso tool there three tools will appear

1. LASSOTOOL
2. POLYGON LASSO TOOL
3. MAGNETIC LASSO TOOL.

These tools are specially used for cut the parts of the photo and paste any where else, Using these lasso tools, you can do a variety of special effects on your wedding photos like the couple standing in a field, sitting on a flower, or on the beach. Just like how we use a blade to cut out parts of an image in a real photo, we can use this tool to cut out parts of an image in Photoshop. All three of these tools help in cutting various curves and sharp corners. So this is also like free drawing.

A magnetic lasso tool can be used to cut out areas of two different colors very easily. For example, when you click on an area and draw a specific color, this tool will select only the desired color and then you can copy the selected area and in paste it anywhere. theses tools also have options like Marquees tools such as invert selection, father etc.

These tools are used to cut out parts of a photo and add those parts to another photo, also add another background to the image. These tools are mostly used in wedding photography to make the bride and groom look like they are sitting on flowers and walking on the beach.

So far we have seen about the uses of tools like the lasso tool and Marquee tool in trial series and we will see about some mortools in the next lessons
