“Steemit Engagement Challenge S3W1 - Which places in your hometown are little known but worth visiting by @parineeta

Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well,I am also fine. Like all the contest i feel glad to participate in this contest.For this i would like to give a description of a destination, which I visited recently,it's Srimanta sankardev kalakhetra. which is situated in panjabari area of guwahati city.

Location

It is a generally a cultural phenomenon , this cultural institution is in the name of famous playwright and poet of the time of mediaeval period, the name was shrimanta sankardev,the poet was also a follower of the religious vaishnav dharma. This is generally a nonprofit cultural institution.

Apart from cultural activities it includes library and some symbol of our state and it also preserving our states culture of different tribes of the state of Assam. It shows monuments like traditional buffalo fight . monuments wearing traditional attire.The institution has childrens park in it's premises.

There is also a mesum in it's compound, which exhibits different types of items which are generally used by the diversified ethnic groups of assam, there are various types of cultural objects are also displayed there.

There is also a open air theatre , where traditional dance and drama are performed.The architecture of the place also shows the cultural heritage of assam.one can buy traditional things like japi,gamusa,rhino and many more handcrafted items of Assam.

Popular things for what you must visit this place if you come to visit assam

One who is interested in arts and cultural activities then it is the must visit place for them,they can learn about the ethnic art and cultural diversity of Assam.It has a very beautiful view of hills which is the another attraction to visitors.

How to getting the place

Sankardev kalakhetra is situated in guwahati city,it's never been a big issue in reaching the place.Buses, taxis are easily available from the various parts of the city.

Best visiting time

The institution remains open in all the days of the week,one can visit to the place when they want,but i personally suggest that one should avoid the visit during summer season, guwahati has sub tropical weather.monsoon can cause a hazardous with a heavy rain,i think spring and winter is the best time to visit this place.

Why i choose this place to introduce you

Because when we go to a new place we have eagerness to know about the place,and it's culture, what types tribes living there,what was their main profession how they live what are the traditional things they use ,if anyone would visit sankardev kalakhetra then one can explore many things about the state and its people.
