Communities are very essential part of steemit. Through communities we are able to build good engagement, make friends and even recognize real users in the system.

There are many communities in steemit, some are new, some are old, some has more subscibers, other less, some build much engagements, others less.
Some communities in steemit are doing well more than others, Is there a big secret to successful communities?, Are their Ideas that other communities can learn to improve theirs?

Well the above is what I will be discussing in this my entry to the contest hosted by @monz122. I'm going to share my little ideas about how a steemit community can be better and successful. The ideas i'll share will be from my personal experience in the various communities.

My Ideas

Below are some of the ideas I have that can help to improve a community. I hope you find it helpful or interesting:

Contest

Hosting contests is one big secret to every successful community. Good contest topics with good rewards attracts users to a community. So if one interesting contest attracts users to community, two or more will attract more and more users. While there can be a contest hosted by the community account, the moderators should also host their own.

Do a unique project

If possible a community should have its own fun and unique project. They should be known and admired for it
It could be contest series or educational series, for the benefit of the users who visit the community.

Quality comments on publications

Posts in the community should always be reviewed with a good comment and vote from the community account. That is what will attract many to the community.

Having no comment on our posts discourages us a lot, there have been some communities where I go to make my post and after posting it down get reviewed and no comment is found in the post. Next time when making a post it will be difficult to choose that community again for my post.

Words of appreciation such as, "Thank you for being part of our community", "We value your presence here" can make a user feel welcomed.

Treat members with love and respect

Steemians are humans and humans value love and respect. They like to be where they are treated well and thus if a community treats them well then they'll always want to come there. So to build much engagements a community needs to treats its members well.

The admins and moderators should do well to treat their members kindly through their comments. They should show the users that they truly appreciate their contents and if there is something the user needs to correct he should be told in a nice way.

I'm super sure that if Steemindia applies all my suggestions and ideas in this post the community will be a home for many more users. They are doing well in these aspects but there is always room for improvement.

Working to improve a community is a good goal that yields good results, after all a community is creates a space where members can interact, connect and also create values for one another. A well built and successful community goes a loooonng way!
