Steemindia contest no#9 || Importance of Mother In your Life || Club75
Friends,
“Importance of your Mother in your Life” is the topic of the contest announced by the community. Initially, I was thinking should I participate in this contest or not. The subject is a little controversial for me, who will go against it as Mother will always have the importance in everyone’s Life, no average human will contradict it nor even an animal.
Before telling you the importance of my Mother in my Life, let me introduce you to my Mother with you.
My Mother was born in East Bengal (now Bangladesh) seventy-nine years back. They were five brothers and three sisters, and my Mother was the youngest sister and had three younger brothers among the five brothers.
My Mother was around ten or twelve years old when they were forced to leave East Bengal due to communal riots and came to West Bengal, India. As my grandfather was still working in East Bengal, initially, her whole family took shelter in a relative place and continued her education in India.
As I heard from my maternal grandparents, uncles, and aunties, she was good at studying. They were penniless at that time and were not having food two times a day. So, like the other siblings, she also started to teach other children to earn the pocket money she could spend on studies and daily requirements.
She learned to swim very fast and started to cross the Ganges with her other friends. She was a tomboy, as described by her brothers and sisters and some of her friends. My Mother was a very good reciter and earned a lot of prizes in the recitation competition.
At the age of twenty-three, she got married to my father and completed her graduation after marriage. At that time, she worked in a multinational electronic company in Kolkata.
After two and half years of marriage, I was born.
Now I will try to tell you the importance of my Mother in my Life.
As I told you that my Mother was very fond of sports; from the very beginning, she encouraged me to participate in different sports apart from formal education. She pushed me to learn how to play serious football. When I was nine years old, every Saturday and Sunday I used to go for training and every single day my Mother was there with me.
It continued for me for the next six years. I only played First Division football in the Calcutta football league for her efforts. Subsequently, she encouraged me in Volleyball, Badminton and Table tennis, which I played till the University level.
Most of the time, whatever game I had participated in, she was my main spectator and inspired me from outside the ground.
I was fonder of my Mother than my father. It might be that she was always around.
I can still remember that when I was not sleeping, she would slap softly at my back, and after some time, I could sleep properly. At a later age, we both used to laugh remembering these incidents.
She would feed me by her hand when I was reading or doing something, which continued for an extended period even after joining the professional Life.
My Mother was also my teacher. She used to teach me Bengali, Science, and Mathematics till class eight.
Whatever foundation I had in those subjects is due to her endeavour.
She was instrumental in my studies, and she always informed me of the importance of education. To do something in Life, a person must be educated enough, and this principle I followed till now.
She always told me that only learning from the book would never make you an actual human, and you should also learn how to behave with other humans and be sympathetic to the needy.
As I informed you earlier, my Mother was culturally very well versed. She was well averted with the writings of Rabindranath Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Bibhuti Bhushan Bandhopadhyay, and modern writers like Shakti Chattopadhyay, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Sanjib Chattopadhyay. With her inspiration only, I am inclined toward cultural activities.
Whenever I participated in any musical concert to play the Tabla, she was there.
She was an excellent cook and used to cook newer items often. My nature of being a Foodie maybe for that reason. But she was against wasting food, and I used to get scolded by her.
When I started my own business, my Mother was the first person to contribute the funding. She always encouraged me to do something of my own.
Physically, I lost My Mother in May 2018, but she is with me every day and every night. The most important thing is that I came to this world from my Mothers' womb. What more importance a living thing in this Universe will have in Life.
I am also Inviting @shubhambhagat, @jahangeerkhanday and @shravana to participate.
Thank you to bring me here ,brother it is very disheartening that you have lost your mother.Mothers love is eternal, she must be loving you from heavens.
