Rights and Responsibilities

I hope everyone is okay and in good health.

We often hear about the people's "rights" and the "responsibilities".

The rights and responsibilities are two different words, but they are also interlinked somehow.

We generally think about our rights but tend to forget about our responsibilities. I can give some examples of the statement mentioned above.

We have every right to get an uninterrupted water supply, but our responsibility is not to wastewater, and the same for electricity and other essential items. In professional terms, the employee has every right to get the remuneration at a specific time; similarly, the employee's responsibility is to generate the benefit for the organization.

Protecting the Environment is responsibility

In family life also, the parents have every right to set rules and regulations for their children up to certain age but also have the responsibility to protect them.

We have every right to vote after a certain age and have the responsibilities to choose the right leader.

The rain started in this country in the last two days, and today was no different. Yesterday whole night it was not raining, but today morning it started pouring again.

In the morning got up around 5.30 am and used the treadmill for the morning walk. I walked for 57 minutes and after that had morning black tea. Due to rain, the newspaper came late today.

Bread, milk, and banana were there for breakfast. After taking a shower, I started work from home. Today I was supposed to go to the office physically, but heavy rain and waterlogging could not take the car out of the garage.

I had lunch around 2.30 pm. Bengalis' one favourite item is "Khichdi" on these rainy days. Today I had that in lunch.

Worked till 6 pm and after that prepared for an evening walk. Rain has stopped for some time, and I grabbed the opportunity to walk on the rooftop. I could walk for 50 minutes as the rain had again started and this time more heavily.

In the evening, after freshening up started watching the Indian Premier League Cricket match between Lucknow and Gujrat, and I watched some brilliant bowling performances by both teams.

I had simple chicken clear soup for dinner, as the lunch was heavy.

It's still raining outside and as I was saying earlier, about the rights and responsibilities, asking for clearance of waterlogging by the authority is the citizens' right, but not throwing the garbage and plastic into the drains is our responsibility.
