Who was it?

He was born on January 18, 1689 in France, just as Voltaire was raised in a wealthy family with many privileges, however his parents make the godfather of who would later be one of the greatest thinkers in history a beggar, because consequently Montesquieu would grow up with the idea that the poor and the rich are equal, they are equal people, simply having a lower or higher socioeconomic status depending on who you are talking about.

His education was formalized near Paris places where he learned music, fencing and horsemanship received great teachings from each of his teachers who had a very complete "spirit", they instilled in Montesquieu that the value of his soul and his subconscious was greater than that of the social, political or even religious classes in some aspects. To finish his education he ended up studying Law (This does not mean that he has not acquired more information from another place, but that these are the greatest graduates that are recognized)

Unlike Rousseau and Voltaire, Montesquieu did not receive any penalty from the absolutism of the time, but from the church, since it would be against many of the thoughts promoted by the writer, this because the thought of this man only alluded to ecclesiastical thoughts, but not those of royalty, making severe criticisms of the whole church, however, it also happens that he was attributed the title of baron this because on the death of his uncle it was decided to leave the title to Montesquieu

Considered the greatest of his writings the "The Spirit of the Laws". He talked about how societies were governed through their forms of government, but not only did he limit himself to talking about the monarchy as previously said, but on the contrary he talked about all forms of government and arrived at an analysis in which he wrote that each government and each collectivity needed specific laws to be able to arise within any field that he saw fit, however, he did not go so far as to pejoratively detail any of these systems, he simply went to the analysis of what was presented at the time, in some cases it even sounded like a dualistic discourse, since although he spoke about freedom of expression as an intrinsic right to be born and private property as the goods of fundamental acquisition in the citizen. He also came to cheapen the slavery of women, this because he had the idea that they were not equal to men and therefore should be subdued.

He became a person of great value at a social and cultural level, because through his writings he not only came to have a value extrapolate in the law and the analysis of governments but also supported a lot the literature of the moment, talking about the need to have good habits to have a good life or the obscurantism present in the bad decisions of "the person" before society, he was a writer whose essays revolutionized the way of seeing the world of the moment, since the period of the Enlightenment brought with it a lot of new thinkers who would help society a posteriori, while Rousseau was the fundamental pillar in the drafting of human rights and Voltaire in the promotion of ideas contrary to the monarchy, Montesquieu served as another key piece, because through him the new ideals of government of the moment were sown. The so-called "Republic of Representative Government" came from somewhere, and that place came from this man.

This makes us think many things, all people, especially of this time had a thought that for today is not congruent, it seems "retrograde" to us. But of course it is, after all we are talking about a century with many complications social, political, judicial and religious level, so it is normal that sometimes we find these strange incongruities ... A person with dual thoughts who can provide the fundamental pillars of a new society... That was Montesquieu."
