Hello Steemit Beauties,

Good day to all of you! Today in this contest I would like to present 03 home grown medicinal plants for your beauty care and a healthy salad. Since we are in a global pandemic everyone needs to find supplements for the beauty care products. I hope anyone looking for such products can use these ideas, because it is more natural and better for your own health.

These are the 03 medicinal plants I have used,

Neem Leaves

Neem is one of the popular healing herb in Ayurveda. In Sri Lanka many people use neem as an medicinal plant. Some use this as herbal drink and even add some leaves to salad sometimes, but it is very bitter in taste. Neem extract can use for many beauty concerns as well. Let's see what are the benefits we have using neem,

Benefits of Neem

  • Boosts immune system.
  • Beneficial in treating acne
  • Gives relief from bad breath
  • Helps to protect against diabetes
  • Effective in treating malaria symptoms
  • Helps to eliminate dandruff
  • Protects teeth and gums against oral periodontal
  • Lower’s risk of cancer and cardiovascular diseases
  • Used in aroma therapy
  • Soother tired eyes
  • Helps in weight loss

This is how I made a Face Pack using Neem Leaves

Ingredients

  • Neem Leaves
  • Turmeric powder
  • Rose water

  • Get some fresh neem leaves and wash them thoroughly (Make sure that dust struck to the leaves are well washed because we are using this as a face pack)

  • Soak them in water for a few minutes and grind them to a fine paste.

  • Clean your face and apply the paste using a brush

After about 15 minutes wash it off. This will cleanse your skin and it is a remedy for getting rid of black heads, pigmentation, acne scars, and marks.


Thebu Leaves

Thebu is a very common home grown plant in Sri Lanka, not for the beauty of the plant but it is well known to lower the level of blood sugar. So, many Sri Lankans use this Thebu leaves as a salad for their meal. We usually eat this salad once or twice a week. It is very easy to prepare because we are using the raw leaves for the salad. I have planted this in my balcony.

  • Stimulate appetite for other meals
  • Control phlegm and bile
  • Treat skin issues

This is how I made Thebu Salad for my meal

Ingredients

  • Handful of Thebu Leaves
  • Grated coconut
  • Small Onion
  • Green Chilies
  • Tomato
  • Half a lime

  • Get all the ingredients and wash them thoroughly, Slice Thebu leaves, Onion, Green Chilies & Tomato into very thin pieces.

  • Get some fresh grated coconut

  • Add onion to the grated coconut

  • Add Tomato & Green chilies

  • Add half lime juice and add some salt as per your taste

  • Now mix everything well

  • Finally add the finely sliced thebu leaves into the mixture

  • Mix it soft and make sure not to mix it too much otherwise it will become bitter in taste

  • I'm ready to have my thebu salad for today's lunch

Aloe vera has to be the most commonly used plant for beauty care. Rich with zinc, magnesium, selenium, vitamins B2, B6, E, and C, Aloe vera is a world renowned herb for skincare & health concerns. You can also try Aloe vera as a fruit juice. There is a $13 billion dollar global market value for this amazing plant. It's commercialized business for many cosmetic products, pharmaceutical, and food industries.

This is how I made an Ice cube for a face treatment

Ingredients

  • Aloe vera leaf
  • Lime
  • Some water

  • Cut the Aloe vera leaf into two inches pieces.

  • Remove thorny parts on both sides of the Aloe vera leaf to get the inner gel easily.

  • Peel the outer green layer with a sharp knife. Once you peel this is how the inner layer should look like.

  • Now blend this aloe gel with a few drops of limes and freeze it in the refrigerator. Once it is ready you can apply this anytime in the day to have a glow in the face.
