What is zero Tillage- technology and why now a days it's popular in news.

This technology was introduced in Bihar with the help of (IPC) international potato centre Peru.

In India it is famous in Bihar when first time the 22 womens farmer produce potato with the help of zero tillage technology.

Zero teenage is a cultivation technique in which seeds are directly deposited into untilled soil which has written the previous crop residue and that's a way we say it's a direct drilling/no till farming. This technique is suitable for all kind of farming like small medium large etc. This technology first propound by Edward folknar in his revolutionary. In this type of farming the soil is disturbed on surface only. The previous crop detritus protects the seedbed.

• With the help of this technology this soil erosion is reduce and maximize the soil bio -diversity and biological activity.
• With the use of this technology the structure of soil is not disturbed.
• Improve the soil structure and soil cover increase the soil ability to absorbed and infiltrate water.
• When there is no till then the evaporation process should be slow and that's way the irrigation efficiency increases and by this we save much more water also.
• Soil microorganism like fungi, bacteria which is useful for soil health help the soil fertility by consuming the carbon components.
• This technique also reduces the labour cost irrigation cost or save the fuel and machinery cost also.

• Nowadays global warming is a huge concern all over the world full stop so we focused to reduce greenhouse gas emission but it is equally very critical that we figure out how to draw down the co2 that is already present in our atmosphere. Climate scientist rec ognized that healthy soil place an important role in withdrawing carbon.

• According to Rodale institute - (an American non profit organisation supports the research into organic farming) adopting regenerative agriculture practice across the globe could sequester global annual greenhouse gas emissions, which is roughly 52 giga tonne off CO2.

Hence no till/Drill farming fits as a bigger climate solution.

• By this technology of formal loses the ability to mechanical or human control weeds through village.
• There is a risk of carrying over plant diseases if any kind of disease in the previous crop then dendrites of previous crop affect the new crop.
• It's takes too long time to see the benefits of this technology.
