Violence in schools
Hello everyone
Today I want to share with you information that has become very popular both nationally and internationally. It's about bullying.
The school is the ideal environment for the development of children and adolescents, a propitious scenario to learn to live harmoniously. However, the return to face-to-face classes has marked a series of difficulties and conflicts of violence that have attracted attention both inside and outside the country.
What is happening with children and adolescents?
When relating, minors begin to present differences, some want to maintain the dominance to be the strongest, or be the popular ones in school, and that is where violence begins, what we know as bullying.
When does it show up?
In schools, children or teenagers always tend to form groups, and these groups have their rules, and most of them have a leader, or someone who leads the way. When a child is seeking permanence and wants to be accepted into a certain group, this child must meet certain requirements one of them is to let himself be beaten or beat another child, if he meets it he is a member of the group, if he does not comply he will be a victim of bullying.
The dominance of power against others is characteristic of those who exercise violence, and violence is not only physical but also verbal.
How to know if our child is being bullied?
Children or adolescents who suffer bullying, usually have drastic changes in their behavior, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, aggressiveness towards animals, or towards toys, is very reserved or very explosive.
Both parents and teachers are key players in detecting bullying.
As a teacher I have noticed expressions from some representatives who tell the child if they hit you you also hit him, by doing this we are encouraging violence.
Parents have to talk to our children so that they learn to defend themselves but not with violence, when they feel threatened by bullying, talk immediately with a teacher.
Parents in their hands have a great responsibility to ask us what kind of person am I educating? Teach your children values like respect. Remember that values are taught at home and reinforced in school. Let's do everything we can to avoid bullying.
