in Healthy Steem4 months ago

Hello all stemian friends!!! , I am very happy to be able to participate in this contest, this is the second contest I have participated in on the steemit platform, I am just giving the opinion I want to give regarding "health is important" so that everyone will understand how important it is in health matters.

According to my knowledge of infectious diseases

Sumber

Infectious diseases are diseases that can be transmitted from one individual to another through various means, whether transmitted by air, water, food or direct contact, they can also be transmitted by vectors (mosquitoes or ticks) and so on. It is important to remember that this infectious disease is caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites or even fungi.Following are some examples of infectious diseases;

  • Flu
  • Tuberculosis
  • Malaria
  • Dengue fever and
  • Covid -19.

If preventive measures are not appropriate, such as vaccination, regular hand washing, maintaining cleanliness, and self-isolation, etc., infectious diseases can spread more quickly. Make sure to manage it well because infectious diseases have the potential to become epidemics or pandemics for all humans. Therefore, it is important to take appropriate preventive steps and understand the risk of contracting an infectious disease to protect yourself and others, so that the chance of contracting it is lower or less.

Transmission process and preventive measures

Sumber

Spread of infectious diseases;

  • Air, occurs when someone inhales the air produced by an infected person, such as coughing or sneezing.
  • Direct contact, occurs when one individual makes direct contact with another infected individual through physical touch or something that has been contaminated with the disease.
  • Vectors can be transmitted by infection from one individual to another, just like ticks or mosquitoes.
  • Water, water that has been contaminated with infections will also become an outbreak of infectious diseases.
  • Food, also indirectly, food is a factor in the habit of contracting disease.

Preventive measures;

  • Washing hands, washing hands regularly is the first step in prevention.
  • Maintain cleanliness, a clean surrounding environment, there is little chance of infection.
  • Maintain distance, avoid crowds and getting too close to sick people.
  • Vaccination, appropriate vaccines can protect the body's immunity from infectious diseases.
  • Use a mask, in situations where it is difficult to maintain distance in public places, use a mask.

These preventative steps can help prevent or reduce the risk of infectious diseases and can protect yourself from other people around you.

Differences between bacterial and viral infections and treatment strategies

Sumber

According to the lessons I have learned at school, bacterial and viral infections have distinctive differences.

  • Both have the characteristics of organisms where bacteria are single cells that can live independently while viruses are not cells so they need a place or host to reproduce.
  • In terms of size, both are very small, however bacteria are much larger than viruses. The structure is also different, in which bacteria have a complex cell structure while viruses only consist of genetic material. In terms of treatment, it is also clear that bacteria are usually treated with antibiotics, while viruses cannot be treated with antibiotics alone.

Influence of treatment strategy;

  • Bacterial infections, antibiotics are a step in treating bacterial infections so they can inhibit or kill bacteria. Keep in mind! Antibiotics must be prescribed by a doctor.
  • Viral infections, viruses cannot only rely on antibiotics, the treatment also only aims to relieve symptoms and increase the body's immunity so the treatment is carried out in stages with risky steps.

prevalence of socio-economic factors on infectious diseases in the community

Sumber

Socioeconomic factors play an important role in the prevalence and impact of infectious diseases in various communities.

Socioeconomic factors influence infectious diseases;

  • Limited health access to necessary services means that delays in treatment risk wider spread.
  • Environmental conditions such as clean water supplies influence distribution.
  • Nutrition and Health: Low levels of nutritious food make you more susceptible to infection.
  • Education and Awareness of a disease with a limited level of education and knowledge.

Strategies to overcome the influence of socioeconomic factors on infectious diseases include increasing access to health, affordable health education programs, and improving the environment. These steps can help reduce the prevalence of infectious diseases in low socio-economic groups.

Below is my entry for the infectious disease contest organized by sister @sahmie, I also Invite @dekki, @saifulzero, and @waliyul to participate in this contest.
