Contest !! || Heat stroke
Hello fellow steemians. Hope you are doing okay. Welcome back to another of a beautiful contest organized by @khursheedanwar.
Please do well to listen to my podcast
Heat stroke is a life threatening condition that happens when your body temperature rises above 104 degrees Celsius. That is to say that the sweating mechanism fails and the body temperature can rise so high with 10-15 minutes, unable to fall back to the normal body temperature as expected.
There are basically two types of heat stroke:
Exertional heatstroke: this can develop in few hours and is usually as a result of physical overexertion in hot, humid conditions.
Non-exertional heatstroke: This occurs due to age or underlying health conditions; it tends to develop over several years.
The following are the causes of heat stroke:
Exposure to a hot environment: this affects mostly adults, and those who have underlying health issues.
Wearing excess clothing: this can prevent one from evaporating easily and cooling your body.
The preventions are:
i. Wearing loose-fitting, lightweight clothing.
ii. Never leave anyone in a parked car: This is a common mistake most people make. This is a common cause of heat-related deaths in children. When parked in the sun, the temperature in your car can rise 20 degrees F in ten minutes.
iii. It is not safe to leave anyone in a parked car in warm or hot weather, even if the windows are cracked or the car is in shade.
iv. When you car is parked, keep it locked to prevent a child from getting inside.
I have not.
I have been told once how children got in a car and were later found dead by their parents. This might have been one of the reasons.
Heatstroke is not something that should be joked with or taken lightly. We should all ensure to prevent this illness as much as we can to improve our health, and the society.
Would like to invite @smartlouis, @hayleydemi and @kidi40 to participate in this contest.

Heat stroke is very bad and I hope the rate of people who gets affected, will be reduced. I wish you good luck in this contest.
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing valuable information about heat stroke and its prevention measures. Your explanation of the two types of heat stroke, exertional and non-exertional, helps in understanding the condition better. It's crucial to raise awareness about the dangers of leaving anyone, especially children, in a parked car during hot weather, as it can lead to tragic outcomes. Your invitation to others to participate in the contest is a great way to spread awareness further. Heat stroke is indeed a serious condition that requires attention and preventive measures to ensure the well-being of individuals and the community.
Thank you.
