SEC-S16 / W2 | How do you like it better? injected Or orally?💉💊"
Hello healthy friends!!!
Welcome to another great week of exploits in the community. A time to share our healthy publication in the community and I do wish it shows a clear representation of our ideology therein.
Drug administration has continued to revolutionize given the technological advancement we've seen over time. However, intravenous, intramuscular, and oral drug administration has remained a pattern used over time. What we've seen is an improvement in these patterns.
💉Which of these three routes of medication administration do you consider the fastest and most effective to relieve pain, and why? |
---|
I have to acknowledge these three routes of drug administration. Different schools of thought would want to give their opinion depending on the urgency of needs before them. Emergency is mostly considered if we are to talk about their speed in bringing relief to us.
We cannot have an emergency at hand where bleeding, internal bleeding, or other sensitive symptoms are observed and we are talking considering oral medication. Intravenous followed by intramuscular routes are considered fastest and faster as the case may be.
Ceteris Paribus (Everything being under control), oral administration is usually a softer way to this approach given its less complex approach where the patient only needs a cup of water to get it walking without assistance.
Intravenous routes of drug administration are the fastest if properly and efficiently handled. Since drugs are transmitted into the body through the veins, it makes it a lot faster to get to all parts of the body within seconds. But we should also know that not all drugs are administered through veins, the oral or intramuscular route completes the cycle.
💊 There are two ways to administer injected treatment, intravenous and intramuscular. Which of them do you prefer in case you need quick relief or discomfort? |
---|
One thing we must know is the difference between these two methods. While one goes directly through the veins, the other goes through the muscles. A situation where we see patients being injected in their bum or laps. However, not all medication is known to pass through a particular route.
While some are best intravenous, the other through the intramuscular or oral route. They all complement the deficiency we see in each other.
For quicker relief, the intravenous seems to work faster but one thing has always hampered its efficiency or speed in administration which is vein tracing. Patients are first of all subjected to this before administering medication.
This is unlike the intramuscular that is plug and play. Also the injection is ready, it enters the body, is dispensed, and comes out with little or no time. For a combined speed when compared to both, intramuscular is quicker.
However, when the cannula has been set before then, the intravenous method of drug administration is a lot better than every other method both in handling and speed in bringing relief.
💉There is a very good medicine for our body vitamin B12, why do you think they indicate it more in injections and not in pills? Do you think they do not have the same components or the same effect? |
---|
Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin requirement of the body and it is of importance we know that Cyanocobalamin plays a vital role in the entire body's metabolism, especially for people who are deficient in it or have cases of cyanide poisoning. People with also high levels of homocysteine in the blood are encouraged to be administered.
Other diseases unknown that the injection of vitamin B12 could help resolve are issues of cataracts, Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, and fatigue.
Vitamin B12 as we know is best injected due to it being rapidly absorbed through these routes. In less than an hour, it has already got to the needed ends. Ends like the bone marrow, liver, placenta, etc. These routes (intravenous and intramuscular) provide 100℅ of the vitamin B12 that was administered. Excesses are excreted or removed through urine. So, there's nothing to worry.
But this is the same for oral ingestion of this vitamin family. When taken orally, there is a tendency not to get the full dosage of the administered drug before it gets to the needed ends as listed earlier. The absorption of it is hampered at different levels in the stomach. Where we have the intrinsic factors and terminal ileum, absorption of this vitamin is impaired.
💊If you are one of those who do not take pills and you do not like injections, what other method are you looking for to relieve pain or discomfort!? |
---|
Unfortunately, I am one of those who make the Oral medication route his first point of contact before proceeding to the intravenous or intramuscular routes. These routes are the most used drug administering routes available to most of our drugs.
However, there are other types of drug-administering routes, and they include;
Subcutaneous routes which entail that drugs are placed beneath the skin and allow for absorption.
Rectal Route: This involves inserting drugs in the rectum where they are easily absorbed.
Transdermal Route: a patch is given on the skin and drugs are administered through this patch.
Thank you, Friends.
I will want to invite some special friends to join the contest; @chilaw, @ruthjoe, & @hisgeneral
hey your thoughtful analysis of drug administration routes is well-articulated. The consideration of urgency and complexity in choosing the right method for relief is insightful. Intravenous and intramuscular routes with their respective strengths offer viable options. Your commitment to health awareness is evident in your contributions. Keep up the great work.
Thank you @nooruleman for your wonderful and kind comments in my blog always. I always look forward to hearing from you. I like doing oral medics but IV and IM are usually most effective when emergencies are done.
Blessed day ahead...
Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.
Just as the saying goes, different strokes for different folks. While some prefer injections others like it orally but whichever the case may be, both serve the same the same purpose. However, some treatments are better and effective with injection hence for the person who likes it orally, it isn't optional. That was a nice publication and thanks for the mention.
Thank you for responding to the mention. I hope you do make your presentation soon.
However routes of medication administration is important and emergencies and speed of attention determines which route to follow.
Hola
Muy bue no a su participación.
Pienso que cada tratamiento es eficaz dependiendo de la situación del paciente y el grado de dolor que presente
Exactly, the situation on ground determines what is administered. Thanks for the comment.
Hi I hope you are well and I am also I really like your post and you did a very great job this contest is so amazing 🤩 and your post is very good keep it up brother.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate
Thank you for the mention and I hope to drop my entry soon. Not everyone loves IV or IM but for me they are not big deal for me as my goal is sound health always. Best of. Luck with your entry.
Thank you for responding to my mention. Hope to read your entry soon. Thanks for the good wishes
You have shared very good knowledge about different kind of ways of medication and the intravenous is known out the best way and the most fastest way of giving medications but I think you are right oral is also the best way to give and for me I think I prefer to have oral medication when ever I got see I don't want to have intravenous because you can't beard the pain of intravenous cannula
Best of luck
Exactly my point. IV is the fastest of them all. Helps give relief to discomfort faster than other modes of administration. Thank you for coming around. Best of the day.
Yeaaah best day where I have posted the contest. 😊
Greetings sir. Awesome post you made here and in regards to this you said
I totally agree with you and me too I don’t like needles and the pain they cause so I just prefer the oral medication and would readily go with it any day than doing the needles. I enjoyed reading from you sir and I look forward to reading from you again. Sending you my best regards and wishing you success in the engagement.
Thank you for your kind words and comments. I really do appreciate.
Thanks boss
Little did i know that you are very good in medical terms. Your post is well explanatory. I prefer taking injection for faster relieve than oral.
Thank you, boss lady, for your comments. We only try to know little of the medical terms so we can discuss clearly. 😊
