Hey Steemian friends!

Well they've been saying "Health is wealth" forever, and as a Buddhist follower, I totally get that vibe in my entire life up until now. But I have to admit, I didn't give it much thought until life threw me a surprise. So, stay with me because I'm about to spill some beans about my healthy lifestyle!

👉 What do you eat to stay healthy? How can you improve your diet?

If you've ever had a meal in Sri Lanka or watch a documentary about our country, you know that we love RICE! So as any regular Sri Lankan I too love having a hot rice bowl in my meal accompanied with two, three veggie curries, and some fish or meat to complete the squad.

Usually we are talking three meals a day, with lunch being the star of the show. Breakfast and dinner is usually a casual one with bread, noodles, pasta or any other street foods. In previous blog I told that I suffer from blood sugar and this has put me in a health risk. So I've changed my eating habits completely. It is not easy or convenient to change what we eat because that's how we are used to so I change the system of taking foods.

Now I follow intermittent fasting! and that's pretty much Sayonara to the breakfast! Now, I finish my dinner around 9 or 10 pm and give my belly a 14+ hours break before lunch. Trust me, changing my eating habits was like learning to dance all over again, but this move? It's been a game-changer, no doubt! Now I can see better numbers on my glucose reader.

👉 What is your sleeping pattern, and how can you improve it?

I'm what you'd call a night owl 🦉 my friends. The night's like my playground, where creativity kicks in, movies rule, and quality time with my wifey is a must. My sleep schedule's like a rollercoaster ride, I never had no fixed timings. Sometime I get to bed at 10.00pm and sometime 03.00am!! However, I always ensure that I sleep at least 06+ hours.

How can I improve it? Maybe a regular sleep schedule is the simplest answer. Imagine waking up to the sunrise like a responsible adult! 05.00am club! Millionaire lifestyle! Yet, the night's charms are hard to resist, my friends. It's like a magnetic force, pulling me back to the darkness! 😈 But I love it!

👉 What are your daily exercises or activities? Do you need to do more?

To be honest, I'm no gym junkie, at least most part of the year! Almost every year, going to a gym for a 2,3 months, and having a yearly subscription is like a habit now 🙃. But hold on you judgers! I do throw in some push-ups and squats every other day. Want some impressive stats? 50+ push ups and squats within 30min that is 💪. Also there's this epic battle for me with the dead hang, trying to hit that elusive one-minute mark. Trust me, breaching 40+ seconds is a real deal.

Do I need to do more? I really do! I really love running? Man, pounding heart after a good run is always the best. But Sri Lanka's street dogs ain't always friendly with the running man in their territory. Here in Sri Lanka you can't find a single kilo miter without a street dog, they are everywhere! So I dream of a 5K run on the regularly. Sadly jogging tracks are a bit away and need to travel around 20min each way, and who's got that kinda time daily just to get to the track! But hey, a treadmill might just make my dreams come true someday!

👉 What do you do for mental fitness?

Hanging out with my brothers, hands down. Those yearly meet ups is the best medicine. Otherwise, you'll find me beachside along the sunset, just soaking up the good vibes and some "me" time looking over sinking sun making the sky into a canvas of colorful shades.

Watching over this sunset is always fulfilling!

Mental fitness is very important in these days with all the stress we get and I think I'm quite managing myself not to get over stress about anything.

Alrighty friends that's my story, a mix of ups, downs, and a whole lot of on progress learning about keeping the balance of these four pillars, food, sleep, exercise & mental wellbeing. It very important to sleep on time, but for me I don't really have a particular time to sleep but I also wake up once is 6.am in the morning and I'm use to it.
I also love rice but I think they cooking pattern in your country is different from our own.

A lot of people say it is good to be a morning person and I think if you are used to waking up in the morning that's really good. More than the rice I believe our curries are different. We use coconut milk in all our curries. I will wait for your entry.

Haha.. I will give you good answer to defend from street dog. When the dog running towards you with barking, without chasing them away, welcome them with a friendly whistle. Then you can find yourself, how they wave their tail in a friendly manner. I too have the same issue when I walk. I follow that practice, and you can too follow that. The results are sure.
