I agree with this suggestion even more. In the case of your uncle, if his ailment was diagnosed earlier, it would have informed the doctor about what to do immediately they were born. They would have asked their mom to avoid breastfeeding them and she would possibly have been placed on antiretrovirals.
What I'm wondering is how this wasn't detected during antenatal. At least all the children would have been spared the trauma.
The reason this wasn't dictate during antenatal may be because they only check how your baby is doing inside by how he lies. Note that they're Not running general test to know weather there's genetic disorder or not. So i think this could be one of the reason.
