Contest alert! || Pain - A Disease or Symptom
Hello steemfam, it's another engaging day on this platform. Today we will try viewing pain in two distinct perspective. As a disease and also as a symptom.
Could the pain we feel often when ill be the disease itself or just a symptom of it?
Is pain a disease or symptom in body? |
---|
Let's first understand the difference between a symptom and a disease.
A disease is an abnormal condition in living things that causes discomfort in the body and disrupts the normal functioning of this system Meanwhile a symptom is a perceived change in the normal functioning of the body that indicates the presence of a disease or disorder.
Considering that pain can be viewed as an ache, unpleasant sensation or bodily suffering. With this it is evident that in this aspect, pain is most suitably classified as a symptom of a disease or disorder.
Tell us about pain that you have last time? Was that pain systemic or musculoskeletal? |
---|
I believe it was musculoskeletal, it was actually just a stomach cramp. Actually a symptoms of food poisoning I was experiencing.
Staying far from home can be really detrimental to ones health considering most of the food, drinks and other consumables we tend to buy are from vendors and we cannot be exactly certain how these food substances are prepared.
This was what led to the stomach cramp which is a symptom of food poisoning so as you can see in this instance pain is being a clear example of a symptom of a disease.
What you do in home for pain relief?(Tell a remedy or any medication that you do at that time) |
---|
At home for pain relief I try to rest more and avoid working or carrying out hectic activities, also I take a nap. In less severe cases like cramps the pain subsides but in other cases, I have to go as fast keeping my legs in hot water
This is because for pains like cramps I try to avoid taking medications but if I am certain the pain is a symptom of a disease then I seek medical attention to treat that disease or illness.
