Contest: Celebrating Our Health Workers

Good evening my healthy steem community, I trust you are all doing great, as for me I am good too. And I also hope that you are making your health your top priority, because health is wealth I kept saying.
This contest topic is very timely, I must appreciate @sahmie for seeing the need to organized a contest just to celebrate our health workers. I must say, they deserve some accolades for their selfless sacrifices and show of love, sometimes they left their families behind(In the case of running night shift) just to render services to humanity, that is very recommendable.

👉Who is a healthy worker? List out five health worker and what they do.

A healthy worker is someone whose primary purpose is to improve health by rendering care and services to the sick and weak people either directly through the nurses, doctors, midwives or indirectly through the helpers, aides, laboratory technicians and even medical counselors.

Five health workers and what they do are:-

1: Nurses are medical professionals who directly assist patient in some cases by administering drugs and injections to them. And also checking on the patient from time to time.

2: midwives:- Their primary duty is to see to the safe delivery of babies, they are the instruments used and they are also professionals too.

3: Pharmacist: The primary duty of a pharmacist is to dispense drugs and also see to the distribution of prescribed medication to patients and medical facilities.

4: Physiciansand they are also referred to as doctors:- Although each of them as his/her area of specialty, they performed the following duties:- they carry-out surgery, diagnose conditions, they issues out treatment plan, educate the patients, they prescribed medication and they also make referrals to specialist.

5: Dentistry:- They help people take care of their teeth and mouth when the teeth or the mouth develop issues.

👉How important are health workers to us and can we consider them to be super heroes?

Health Workers are very important to us, that is why they deserve to be celebrating and given awards. Without their services, some of us would have been dead a long time ago, ranging from new born babies, to teenagers and to adults. They move about house to house to give vaccinations to children to prevent the spread of deadly diseases, they advice families on sex education to help prevent over population that would endanger our economy downstream. Their importance and contribution to the human race are too numerous to highlight.

So Yes, they can be consider as super heroes; anyone who has the interest of others at heart are considered heroes and they are not exception.

👉Have you ever personally said "thank you" to a health worker for all the hard work they do?

Yes, Countless times. I remember when I was operated on appendix and I was at the hospital for weeks, there was this particular nurse that liked me very much, that I enjoyed her presence each time she was on duty, she took care of me like a mother, brought fruits to me. Infact we continued our relationship after I was discharged from the hospital. Although I relocated from the area and lost her contact but I am internally grateful to her. She is a heroin.

One thing we should know note about health workers is that they are human too not super beings, as such they need our love, support and appreciation too.
I remembered one sunny Saturday, they were going about giving immunization to children, then they came to our compound and I noticed that one elderly woman was looking very tired maybe because of the effect of the sun. I offered her a seat, with a cool water to drink and asked her to rest a bit, she was happy and relieved by thanking me over and over again by that little gestures I showed her.
