SEC-S13 / W5 | "How can alcohol cause damage to your health! 🍺"

Welcome to the post. Hopefully, all of you will be doing well and enjoying the time with the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah. Today, I'm here to be a part of the week 5 contest in the Healthy Steem community. The topic of discussion for this week is How can alcohol cause damage to your health! 🍺 So, let's start the discussion without any wastage of time.

When can we say that a person is an alcoholic? Give reasons for your answer!

Well, alcoholism or alcohol addiction is one of the greatest problems that the whole world is facing these days. Especially, the youth is more attracted towards this addiction due to various reasons including getting rid of the mental stress, getting rid of the heavy responsibilities and many more.

A person is said to be alcoholic when the consumption of the alcohol has increased a level which is said to be over-consumption. When a person become addicted to the alcohol so that he even forget his limits and is not aware about his surroundings or so, then he is termed as an alcoholic person.

Do you think alcohol is a drug? justify your answer!

Off course, I consider alcohol as a drug more than a mere drink. This is because the definition of drug tells us that everything which cause addiction and make the person unconscious about the surroundings is said to be a drug. And these all features are present in the alcohol that's why, I consider it as a drug.

Although, many of the countries around the world are still accepting the alcohol consumption as a celebration or mere a drink to enjoy, but in my views it is a drug hence it effect our mental health and has very negative effects on the nervous system.

Can alcoholism be considered a disease? How to control it!

Obviously, we should consider the alcoholism as a disease. Even I consider alcoholism as a syndrome as it is the cause of many other diseases and even in severe cases, it could also be fatal. In our religion Islam, alcohol is strictly prohibited and this is because after the drink, a man does not remain in his control.

The main and the most concerned effect of the alcohol consumption is on the nervous system and it badly effects the reflexes as well. I have seen many cases in which a man goes through a very severe and critical situation very much related to the epilepsy which is a nervous disorder. That's why, it would not be wrong to say that alcoholism is a disease by it's own.

Is every drinker considered an alcoholic?

Well, as I have already said that alchol is strictly prohibited in our religion Islam and respecting this restriction is the important for every Muslim. Moving towards the point, I don't consider every drinker as an alcoholic person. This is because many of the people drink it within a limit and it does have severe effects on the health though.

But, the person who is completely addicted to alcohol must be considered as an alcoholic person and he should be properly guided and monitored to get rid of this addiction as it has very severe effects on the mental, psychological, as well as, physical health.
