RE: A Blend of Tradition and Medicine(Enemas)
So, are you advocating for enemas or not?
I get the impression that you're against them. Honestly, I’ve never come across this topic much, except for a mention on a Nigerian blog during my curation days. The risks of electrolyte imbalances and other health complications that accompany this practice are concerning. I wonder why this is still a common practice despite the potential harm it can cause.
And why interfere with nature unless it's an illness and an intervention is necessary!
I won't say I am advocating for enema completely but I think since it is practice medically it is not at all wrong but traditionally I am not in support of it because though the leaves used here may be beneficial the proportion of which it is taken is not known.
Enemas is destructive to the kidney, it almost killed one of my neighbour, she took this as her medication since she wasn't able to afford medicine for petite body abnormaly like pains, headache, malaria inclusive. It helped her in some way and as its practice became excessive she suffered the side effect. If enema solvent have proportion like what is done medically then I don't think it is completely out of place. Ma'am @soulfuldreamer are you medically inclined? I need more suggestions
Hi again,
Yes, it is a practice medically
You have yourself answered the question:)
I believe that administering enemas or cleansing the bowels at home, especially by mothers, should be avoided unless specifically directed or advised by a medical professional.
Yes, I have a degree in medical laboratory sciences, focusing on diagnostic tests, so you could say I'm medically inclined. However, I'm not a doctor. I have read physiology and elementary anatomy (as a part of course), but I don't think I can advise you on clinical matters. If you want to know about the diagnostic tests (clinical setting) or related topics, I'm happy to help :)))
Good to hear that you are medically inclined, I am glad about that, you are a doctor then, I will contact you anytime I need help on this aspect.
What if the solvent used is only water?
