✅What are some common ways that communicable diseases are spread among people?
Infectious diseases are spreading among us in various ways. The common ways in which infectious diseases are spread are: -
- Infectious diseases of one person are transmitted to another due to direct physical contact. Contagiousness increases due to physical contact, and kissing.
- Again, the child gets some diseases from the mother. The child directly gets diseases like HIV during pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding.
- Communicable diseases are also spread indirectly. For example, touching an infected area increases the chances of getting infected from there.
- Such as door handles, toys, various types of utensils, etc.
- Infected people can infect nearby people through respiratory droplets released when they sneeze or cough.
- Some airborne infections can persist for long periods.
- The infection also increases through some insects that carry the infection. Mosquitoes and flies etc.
- Infection is spread through contaminated water.
- Infections also spread due to a lack of hygiene.
✅How can good hygiene practices help prevent the spread of communicable diseases?
Infection is a dire situation. There are several steps we can take to recover from this situation. Like:-
- Always wash your hands with antibacterial soap. For example, after using the bathroom, before and after eating, after sneezing and coughing, and after cleaning the garbage.
- This infection can be reduced to a great extent if coughing and sneezing are treated with health care.
- Everyone in the family should adhere to health care, infection can be reduced a lot by keeping the surroundings of the house clean.
- Regular bathing, wearing clean clothes, and avoiding wearing the same clothes for a long time can also avoid infection.
- During regular mealtimes, we can avoid infection by not eating raw food, and avoiding fresh chemical food.
- Infection can be avoided by staying as far away as possible from the infected person and stopping using the items they used.
✅Why is it important for individuals to seek medical help if they suspect they have a communicable disease?
Infection is a serious disease. Any person suspected of having an infection should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
- Infectious diseases can sometimes become serious. For example, infections like tuberculosis can become serious in the future if the doctor's advice is not taken in a short time.
- Infectious diseases can spread quickly among others. Therefore, the disease must be treated with the advice of a doctor before it spreads. For example, Covid-19.
- If the infection is taken lightly, it can take a complicated form, such as pneumonia, typhoid, HIV, etc.
- Above all, for the overall well-being of the family and society, the doctor should be consulted urgently in case of infection.
✅Can you think of examples of communicable diseases and how they have impacted communities?
Over the ages, infected people have influenced the economy and social life of the family, society, and the country in many ways. For example-
- I can talk about covid-19. This disease brought the whole world to a standstill. This airborne disease was so severe that the area where it appeared had to be treated by declaring a shutdown.
- Millions of people have died due to the HIV/AIDS virus. The person affected by this disease is ostracized by family and society. His life is destroyed little by little. His days are spent in severe pain.
- Tuberculosis is another dreaded disease. A person who has tuberculosis is ostracized by family and society. He is kept in solitary confinement.
✅How do public health measures like vaccinations and quarantine help control the spread of communicable diseases?
Vaccination and quarantine play a major role in preventing infection. For example-
Vaccination: -
- Some vaccines are given as prophylaxis against certain infectious diseases, making it less likely that those diseases will occur shortly.
- Vaccination creates hard immunity in the population. As a result, many infections cannot spread.
- Due to timely vaccination, it has been possible to eliminate many infectious diseases such as smallpox, polio, and measles from different parts of the world.
- During the time of Covid-19, vaccination has played a special role in eradicating the disease.
Quarantine: - - Due to being in quarantine, infectious diseases cannot spread outside.
- Quarantine breaks the chain of infection. As a result, the disease cannot spread.
- Quarantine helps to speed up the recovery of the weak, children, and the elderly.
Conclusion:-
If there is an infection, I will try to find out about the previous history of the disease, especially, how the disease originated, how much infection there is, what measures have been taken to prevent the infection, and try to stop the transmission of this disease by using the current modern technology.
