Steemit Engagement Challenge / S11W4- "The experience of surgery or injury by accident".

in Healthy Steem11 months ago

Good day, my dear fellow steemians! I'm here today to kick off my SEC S11W4 contest with the Healthy Steem community. As soon as I saw this topic, I was transported to a time when I was undergoing surgery. In those days I was mostly terrified, thinking of my children and husband, because I suspected it was a bad disease. You may be curious about what it was. Let’s start to read and know about that.

Tell us what surgery have you performed and why?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lump in my right breast caused slight pain. I was terrified and told my husband about it. We sought advice from an oncologist because he was also terrified. The doctor advised us to get a mammogram, which is an x-ray of the breast. This type of screening allowed the doctor to take a closer look at the breast to see if there are any tumors, whether they are cancerous or not.

He then advised us to have a biopsy, which was somewhat painful. Inserting a thin, long needle through the breast into the lump to obtain a small tissue sample for examination under a microscope to determine the problems.

To get the biopsy results it took more than 14 days. The doctor recommended surgery until that. As a result, I was admitted to the hospital and underwent breast surgery. We were relieved to learn that it was only a tumor and not a cancer diagnosis. The entire process took more than a month, and we were burning and terrified that it was cancer until we got the diagnosis.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you consider surgery the solution to a health problem?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the doctor suggests surgery, it means that surgery is the best solution for that particular health issue. But most health problems can be managed with regular medication, exercise, and diet. The diseases such as cancer, heart block, and hernia can be all treated through surgery while some diseases can be cured with long-term medication.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you or a family member or friends suffered an accident that required sutures? Tell us how was it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, my mother required sutures, in her thumb finger. The incident is brief as follows.

My mother was hitting a young coconut one day when it struck her thumb finger and started bleeding. My father rushed her to the doctor, who sutured seven stitches to my mother's thumb finger, which had been severely damaged.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When these events exist, which health center do you go to, or simply go to the home remedies, tell us which one you go to!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is determined by the severity of the injury caused by the incident. If the injury is severe, the patient will be taken directly to the accident ward. If the injury is minor, the patient will be taken to the nearby doctor. If the treatment can be done at home, it is done so with the help of the home's first aid kit.

Oh so sorry about your experience of surgery, but it's good you all took it serious and take necessary steps to remove it so it won't turn cancerous which would have lead to cutting off the breast but you are fine now.

Responding to health issues is very good 👍

Wishing you success 🙂

Yes, we must take the necessary steps at the initial stage. "Prevention is better than cure," as the old adage goes. Thank you for reading my post and your lovely feedback.
