Accident can be defined as unforseen event that happens suddenly and usually causes harm to the victim.

By the special grace of God, I haven't had any road accident but I have witnessed one before my very eyes. On that very day, I was going to my sister's school to visit her. I alighted from the bus and crossed over to the other side of the road to look for tricycle that will take me to the school. While I was waiting a motorcycle carrying a passenger was trying to cross over to the other side of the road when a car suddenly hit then down. The passenger was bleeding while the driver lost conscious immediately. People came and took them to the hospital.
| What was primary precautions you take right after getting road injury? |

Like I wrote earlier, I haven't experienced an accident but I will give tips on what to do after an accident.
- Go to a safer place
After sustaining an injury, move to a safer place and inspect the injury to know how serious it is.
- Be calm
Accident victim usually suffer from shock, be calm in order to know how to handle the situation.
- Apply first aid treatment
In the case of serious accidents like bleeding, dislocation, apply first aid treatment first.
- Call for help
In the case of other accident victims who can't help themselves call for emergency services like ambulance, police.
- Move to safety
Leave the venue of the accident and move to a more safer place.
- Go to the hospital
It's always advisable to go to the hospital for checkups even if the injury is not severe to check for internal injuries and bleeding.

Road accident can be very severe it can lead to the following effects.
- Death
Road accident can be fatal, it has lead lots of people to their early grave.
- Everlasting disabilities
It can equally lead to permanent disabilities like lost of hands, legs, paralysis, disfigured body, lost of eyes, brain damage e.t.c.
- Trauma
It can lead to severe organ damage, internal bleeding.

- Put on seatbelt
Always wear seatbelt in the vehicle.
- Avoid drunk driving
Don't ever drive a car when you're drunk.
- Don't over speed
Avoid over speeding, in case you're in a public transportation and the driver is over speeding, call him to order.
- Don't be distracted
Be focused while driving, don't gist, play loud music, make phone calls or eat while driving.
- Check your car
Make sure your car is in good condition before driving.
- Obey the traffic regulations
Always observe the traffic signs and signals.
- Don't drive when tired
Avoid driving when you're tired or feeling sleepy.
Finally, Road traffic accident are usually inevitable, but we all have a role to play in order to prevent them.

I thank God you've never been involved in any road accidents. Even as we pray that we are not victims of road accidents, we should always apply all manner of safety in order to be safe while using the road.
