WHAT IS ALCOHOL?

An alcohol is seen as a toxic and psychoactive drinks that is capable of affecting and influencing a persons mentally and psychologically when taken in excess

WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT ALCOHOLISM?

According to my own understanding of what alcoholism is, it is the simple term given to describe the most serious case of drinking problem which has in turn affected a persons health.

Alcoholism is otherwise seen as a very strong and uncontrollable desire to drink which in turn tends to affect our health.

WHAT PART DOES ALCOHOL PLAY IN YOUR CULTURE?

Alcohol plays a very important roles in our culture here in Nigeria most especially in our akwa ibom tradition for example when a guy comes to seek a girls hand in marriage he will then come with a lot of items and food stuff but most especially he will have to present a seal bottle 🍾 of alcohol drink 🍻 to that father of the girl

Also alcohol plays a great part in our culture in a sense that when our traditional doctors (native doctors) wants to do incantation there will needs an alcohol drink (ufob fob) which there will use and pour on the ground in other to be able to communicate with the gods

IS ALCOHOL USEFUL TO HUMAN MEDICALLY? GIVE REASONS.

Alcohol though it may be harmful to our health may on the other hand be useful to us medically, and some of the importance of alcohol to our health are;

• Alcohol helps reduce the risk of developing a any form of heart disease
• Alcohol helps reduce the risk of ischemic stroke in the body
• The consumption of alcohol helps give our sex life a boost which is better than taking special drugs for such enhancement
• The consumption of alcohol helps in keeping balance to the blood sugar

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH IMPLICATIONS OF ALCOHOL TO HUMAN HEALTH?

Some of the health implications of alcohol to human health are;

• To much consumption of alcohol causes damage to the liver
• Too much consumption of alcohol can cause damage to the heart at the same time cause delay to blood clotting
• Too much consumption of alcohol can weaken our immune system thus making us vulnerable to disease attack and infections
• It causes memory lose
