Greetings dear friends of steam health, I hope you all are doing good I'm also good too, it's my pleasure to be here again in steam health I want to talk on an interesting contest titled "Food Is Medicine", it is a very nice contest in which I decided to come and cross steam health community so that I will also follow and take part in the contest. All thanks to @sahmie for organising this Amazing contest. I will start from here without wasting time.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THE FOOD WE EAT HAS MEDICINAL VALUE?

Yes of course, the food that we eat has really help us in many ways, unlike the food we eat also has medical value which is so helpful to the body regarding to balance diet which is the rich in whole, unprocessed food can also provide antioxidants and essential nutrients.

Food medicine can help to prevent chronic diseases like diabetes or heart disease, it also helps in supporting immune function and promote mental well-being, food also play's a vital role in our life there by bringing people together and provide them with enjoyment and pleasure isn't that amazing this is one thing I consider about food medicine.

Give 5 examples of foods that you consider to be powerful "medicines" for the body, and what they do.

• Green Tea: This is a type of tea that helps to boost the immune system which may also help in reducing stress and anxiety levels, it also provide the heath benefits expecially when it is consumed as part of a balanced diet.

• Fermented foods: This are the types of foods that contains high levels of antioxidants, which actually helps to protect against cells damage, it also helps in supporting immune system and also supports healthy weight.

• Blueberries: Also helps in reducing the risk of some certain cancer such as breast cancer or colon, blueberries are also reach in vitamin C, which also helps in protecting the skin from damaging and also promote healthy aging.

• Garlic: Also contains some compound that have also been shown to have anti cancer properties, it also helps in reducing the risk of stomach cancer, Garlic also helps in reducing the severity of respiratory conditions like asthma.

• Turmeric: It helps to reduce blood pressure and prevent blood clots, turmeric has also been use as a natural pain reliever particularly for arthritis and joint pains both in supporting immune system.

How can we use food in our daily lives to keep healthy?

We can used food in our life to get healthy there by making informed choice about how much you eat, I also have some tips that will help you use food to maintain a proper health they are as follows....

• Ensure that you cook at home using fresh ingredients.

• Also ensure that you seek professional guidance from a registered dietitian or health care provider for Personal advice.

• Also endeavour to stay hydrated with Water and limit drinks that contains sugar.

• Also consider to focus on whole, unprocessed food like whole grains, vegetables, fruits and healthy fats.

• Also limit processed and packaged foods that contains sugar and saturated fats.

• Also consider to make a sustainable and long term changes rather than following fad diets.

Do you think it's important for schools to teach about how food can be like medicine for our bodies? Why?

Yes indeed, it's very important to teach students about Food medicine because it will make the students to gained more knowledge and learn something good that will actually helps them to defend their self in the public, it will actually helps students to discuss with the person about how food can be like medicines in our body , it will also helps students to make informed choices about their diet and also enable them to take control of their diet.

By also teaching students about the medicinal properties of food, student may also consider to pursue careers in health care and develop essential life skills in meal cooking and planning. In this case I think it's very important for school to teach students about food medicine.

Conclusion

By doing all this we can unlock the full potential of food as a powerful tool for achieving a proper health and well-being, also remember that the right foods can be the best medicine of all.
