We have a name for these old medicines. We call it "boererate"
Translated, it would mean "folk or home remedy."
There is even a FB page where you can get advice on these old medicines or remedies.
These days, I think people run to the doctor way too easily. I mean, look at your son and his elbow. If he had to go to the doctor, it would have been ointment, antibiotics, and other medication.

You are absolutely right that nowadays we do not have patience. If even the slightest thing happens, they immediately run to the doctor. Otherwise, we get permanent treatment through Ayurvedic medicine and home remedies and that too without any side effects. Whereas in allopathic treatment there remains a fear of side effects.
