Hi steemians all across the world,

It's another beautiful day for us to do great things and attain greater heights🙌. Hope you all are having an awesome day and are also enjoying your day as well. I am @owulama and I will be participating in this contest titled "Breaking Bad Habits".

What are some bad habits that are hard to stop, and why is it tough to quit them?

There are alot of bad habits that are very hard to stop.

Therefore, some of this bad habits are as follows:

Smoking: It's a bad habits and once you are used with you find it very hard to stop or control it. Smoking is not good at all for our health cause it has a lot of bad effects which includes damaging of the lungs etc, but then some people still find it as a habit, of which is very bad.

A smoker find it very difficult to stop smoking because it's just like an addict, so anything you are addicted with is usually very difficult to stop it.

Another bad habits is drunkenness: Drunkenness is a very bad habit, cause once a person is drunk the person will start acting and doing things that he/she is not supposed to do. And most atimes they usually act abnormal and it's not good.

The last bad habits I will be talking on is BEING LATE: Being late to important places is a bad habits but alot of people usually pay less attention to this habit.

Alot of people tends to be use with going late to important places of which is not supposed to be like that, cause it has alot of dreadful effects in your life.

Why this bad habits are difficult to stop is because they are just like addiction, so once you are addicted to something, you find out that you find it hard to stop that particular thing.

How can we tell if a habit is just a habit or if it's more like an addiction? And what can we do to break them?

You can tell if a habit is just a habit or if it's more like addiction when you start feeling this way:

You will find out that you constantly craves for that thing or doing that particular thing often.

You will continue doing those things even if they have negative impacts in your life, you will find it very hard to stop it.

You will also notice that you will be preoccupied with this activities, to the extent that it will prevent you from doing other important things in your life. It will take almost all your time.

Some of the easy ways to break them is:

  1. Be able to identify what triggers or moves you to keep behaving like that, and endeavor to stay far away from those things.

  2. Create a support system: Surround yourself with people that will keep encouraging you on the needs to stop the bad habits and also people that will keep you motivated.

  3. Think about the bad effects of that habit and how stopping it will be as an investment to your future.

  4. Be intentional about your decisions of how you want to stop those habits, once you are intentional and persistent, it will go a long way to help you stop them.

Remember breaking of bad habits is not easy, it needs a whole lot of process and commitments to achieve that goal.

What are some challenges that people might face when trying to quit bad habits, and how can they overcome them?

The major challenge that people might face when trying to quit bad habits is the negative talks that might come from people, those negatives words are usually like discouragement that if you are not careful you won't be able to quit the bad habits again. Another challenge is influence of peers.

How to overcome them is to turn deaf ears to what ever people may be saying about you and also endeavor to stay away from bad peers that will keep influencing or encouraging you to continue with the bad habits.

How can we support and encourage others to quit their bad habits without being judgmental or pushy?

Ways on how to encourage others to quit their bad habits without being judgemental or pushy is :

  1. Keep praying for them in our secret place, there is nothing prayer can not do. So the first thing to do is to pray for them.

  2. Encourage them in love, keep encouraging them and making them understand the needs to quit those bad habits and creating awareness also on the negative effects of those bad habits.

  3. Another way to support and encourage them without being judgemental or pushy is not to mock them of their bad habits. When you mock them they will feel less of their self and you will sound judgemental.

Smoking 🚬 and drunkenness is a very bad habits that us hard to stop by many individuals, and the worst thing is that they are killing their self by themselves and when you tell them they will abuse you and tell you to mind your business.

Your input to the topic is good. Bad habits die had so it needs a good great efforts both from the victim, their relatives and the society at large. Habits should be closely monitored from an early stage so that it doesn't get to an uncontrollable stage.
