🍾INTRODUCTION to ALCOHOLISM🍾

Steemit engagement challenge s13w5.jpg
CREATED IN CANVA

Alcohol 🍾was created by God, and he knew it would be of great benefit to man but humans seem to abuse it by taking it in excess and this may provoke them to misbehave in society and disgrace themselves.

When can we say that a person is an alcoholic? and why? 🤔

At this point, I would say the people involved are addicted and at the same time may not be but may eventually become if done over time.

Signs of addiction to alcohol

  • 🍺Drinking more than intended, Spending a lot of time and energy on drinking and recovering from it.
  • Having a desire to stop drinking, but unable to do so

Many people are struggling with alcohol addiction, and with treatment, it is possible to overcome this disease.

Do you think alcohol is a drug? 🤔justify your answer!

This is a very interesting question and one that has raised a lot of arguments among health practitioners. Some people argue that alcohol is not a drug, because it is legal and socially acceptable. A lot of people may argue that alcohol is indeed a drug because it alters the functionality of the body system, to be able to categorize this we must first look at the definition of a drug and from this, we can see the coincidence.

Certainly, alcohol qualifies as a drug since it depresses the central nervous system, leading to changes in mood and behaviour. A small amount of alcohol is found in almost all the starchy food we intake and it causes unwillingness, laziness, and carrying out some activities because of its effect on the brain.

Can alcoholism be considered a disease? 🤔How to control it!

I would define Alcoholism as a disease with no pathogen (tiny microscopic animals), amplifying my suggestion, if a person is said to be abnormal, it means he is sick and if he is sick it could be said that he has a disease. Therefore alcohol is a disease, the way it could be controlled is by abstinence

Is every drinker considered an alcoholic?🤔

DRUNK

No, not every drinker is an alcoholic. There is a big difference between someone who occasionally enjoys a drink and someone who is struggling with alcoholism. For example, a person may be able to drink socially without it causing any problems in their life, while another person may be unable to control their drinking and it may be causing them serious problems. It's not the amount of alcohol that someone drinks that defines them as an alcoholic, but rather the impact that drinking has on their life.

I won't lie, your opening sentence at the first quarter got me laughing, so funny. The signs given off by alcoholics can be easily spotted from afar, good work in pointing some out.
Anything that interferes with the functioning of the body and/or mind is a drug, and indeed alcohol meets these criteria. Your reason for saying "No, not every drinker is an alcoholic", makes absolute sense and I agree with you. I enjoyed your entry, thanks for sharing with us.

Hello @nsijoro
Alcohol can be dangerous to the health my friend. Most people could control the amount of alcohol they take in their body, while others cannot these are the alcoholics. Having a desire to stop alcoholism but you find it difficult to, perfectly defines as alcoholic. I enjoyed your images and article generally. Success in the challenge my dear friend.
