Contest: Celebrating Our Health Workers

INTRODUCTION

It is true that as angels this set of humans live in the cloud of everything that happens but they get illuminated and are exposed at the sight of severe health conditions, the world needs them most, and without them suffering a pandemic is slim. They are our saviour when it comes to health issues.

Who is a healthy worker? List out five health worker and what they do.

DEFINITION OF HEALTH WORKER

A health worker is someone passionate about the well-being of another person, they possess characteristics that include compassion, attentiveness, charisma, and zeal all to favour the patient in need of medical attention, they are a set of people who do not close their eyes past anti-healthy activities.

HEALTH WORKERS AND WHAT THEY DO

Laboratory scientists; collect specimens from the body of a human and test what exactly is the cause of the ailment in the body. Without them, the doctor's diagnosis is not proven to be right.

Nurses; Their Work is to assist a doctor in ensuring that a prescribed drug is taken by the patient according to the prescribed pattern, they are also known as doctor assistants. they give patients injections etc.

Surgeons; They operate the human body, and they are classified based on their specialty

Radiographers; These are health workers who help scan the internal body to check any hidden injury, unforeseen ailment and position of a bone that needs to be fixed etc.

Cardiologists; This is a health worker who focuses on heart diseases and the functionality of the heart.

How important are health workers to us and can we consider them to be super heroes?

The help of all these medical personnel or health workers is needed for an effective surgical operation to be carried out. One cannot work effectively without the other which is why they are all important. Health workers are needed in our various homes. In my country Nigeria there is rarely a home without a health worker, which shows how important they are to us.

Have you ever personally said "thank you" to a health worker for all the hard work they do?

For every help rendered, Thank you must be a statement of appreciation, at my tender age, mum and dad would always tell me to say thank you to the nurse who injected me, sometimes I feel reluctant because of the pain incurred but I said it.

In my country the government are beginning to understand the importance of health workers, I see an improvement here, so I would help workers if I were in the government by increasing their salaries because some of them have gone out of the country to work in a greener pasture like USA, UK, European countries and the likes of them. I would like communities to provide agricultural products like yam, egg, cassava, tomatoes, cucumber, and pepper to health workers in their communities, especially missionaries to help them survive for the period of their stay.
