Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are transferable diseases from one person to another through sexual contact. They are usually spread during anal, vaginal, or oral sex or through other sexual contact involving mouth, penis, anus etc. This os because some STDs are spread through skin to skin contact.

Some STDs can also be passed through a nursing mother, when breastfeeding or during pregnancy, through blood or birth process.

Note: (STDs) Sexually transmitted diseases and (STIs) Sexually transmitted infections are the same thing. They are all skin to skin transferrable diseases or infections.

Causes

These infections can be generated through;

•Unprotected sex: Having unprotected sex, anal sex with an opposite sex can cause these infections.

•Mouth to mouth resuscitation: This can also cause STDs because there is an exchange of mouth fluids during this process.

Transmission

passion-5120121_1280.jpgsource

STDs are transmitted from an infected person to an uninfected person through sexual contact.

Having anal sex with an infected person who isn't wearing a condom, increases the chances of getting STDs.

Being forced to engage on sexual activities.

Injecting drugs; sharing of needles can transmit this virus from infected person to uninfected person.

Misuse of drugs and alcohols can lead to risky behavior and as such get transmitted from an infected person.

Conclusion

STDs are real and should be taken seriously. Instead of having unprotected sex, abstain and if the urge is much, use a condom for a safe sex.

We should not jeopardize our health, it should be our priority. When we have good health, we enjoy good life.

Stay safe and live well!!!
